About this property

Private beach cottage - best value on Grand Turk!

Seasongs is a charming one-story, fully furnished cottage with a spacious enclosed yard and large screened porch. The cottage is one house away from West Road/Pillory beach on beautiful Grand Turk Island. A quaint island reminiscent of “Old Caribbean” before the days of high rises and crowds, Grand Turk is a short hop by commuter plane from the far more crowded resort island of Providenciales (Provo).

Downshift to beach life and island time! Get your morning dose of Vitamin Sea looking out at the water as you drink your morning coffee on the front patio. Grab a beach towel and walk 20 yards to the pristine, powdery white sand beach and calm turquoise water. Wade out to swim or snorkel. Later, stroll down to the local fish market and buy today’s catch to barbecue for dinner.

We fell in love with the Grand Turk Island’s peaceful charm, friendly people and exceptional diving during our first visit in 2014. Who doesn't want to live on an island! Seasongs is a Bermuda-style house, built in 1942. The cottage has tons of character and has been fully refurbished with all modern comforts and a local property manager is available to assist guests. The house is stylish, very comfortable and completely unfussy - a place where you can truly relax, knowing that everything has been provided for.

Staying in a house with a yard (as opposed to a condo or an apartment) has some real advantages - there's no one above, below or next to you. The back yard and screened porch are fully private. Unlike places directly on the beach, no one can walk by and look in. Both the front and back yard are enclosed - guests with young kids have said they loved this. The tree-shaded patios and screened porch are ideal for when you want to be outside but not in the sun.

When you’ve had enough relaxing, there are plenty of activities – horseback riding along the beach, biking around the island on one of our beach cruisers, exploring the history and culture of Grand Turk and the TCI at the Turks & Caicos National Museum, people-watching at one of the nearby restaurant bars. If you’re inclined, visit the Cruise Center on the south end of the island (about 4 miles away) when a cruise ship is in for shopping and drinks at the Margaritaville Bar.

Then, there’s the diving! World-class diving along the 8-mile long Grand Turk Wall in the Columbus National Marine Park, suitable for beginner or expert divers. There are excellent dive shops; dive boats can reach most of the best diving in minutes. Great snorkeling is available right off the beach by the house, or you can go out with one of the dive shops or from the beach resort a few steps up the road.

Here’s what you’ll enjoy at Seasongs:
• A breezy open-plan living/dining room with some ocean views from the living room
• A cook's kitchen with sharp knives and everything else you'll need
• Table settings for 8+
• High-quality linens and towels, including beach towels
• Full A/C and ceiling fans throughout the house
• WiFi fast enough for Skype and streaming
• Smart TV
• Truly comfortable sleeping for 5: a king bed, a sectional sofa that converts to a queen and a twin daybed
• Office area with desk
• 2 cruiser bikes
• A large screened-in porch with comfortable chairs and a big dining table
• Fully enclosed yard (good place for small kids to play) with two patios, a barbecue grill and a hammock, plus room to park a golf cart or rental car in the front yard
• Markets, restaurants and island businesses only a short walk away

A villa was built between Seasongs and the beach a few years ago. While we gave up some of our ocean view, there is public access to the beach directly in front of the house and the lovely sunsets are always there to enjoy with a glass of wine on the patio.

Things to Do at Seasongs, from A to Z

o Absolutely nothing, preferably with cold beverage in hand
o Beachcomb on the east side of the island – you can walk along the beach for miles
o Birdwatching – check the binder for info and sites
o Cruise around on a bike
o Delight in that incredible Caribbean blue water
o Eat conch in as many ways as possible: fritters, soup, curry, etc. Be systematic.
o Explore the TCI National Museum
o Float on your back in the ocean as long as you can
o Gibbs Cay snorkel tours to see stingrays
o Horseback riding on the beach with Sunset Rides & Tours or Chukka Adventures
o Imbibe an adult beverage on the deck of the Sand Bar

o Kayak off the beach and at North Creek - Papa Js, Oasis Divers
o Lounge lazily in the hammock in our back yard or on the porch
o Massage at OceanScapes Spa (some days on the beach!)
o Noodle around picking sea glass on Governor’s and Osprey beaches

o Quaff a Turks Head lager – Eric’s favorite? 'I-Ain-Ga-Lie'
o Re-lax
o Sport fishing: Screamin’ Reels, Big Blue, Oasis Divers
o Talk to people – Grand Turk folks are usually happy to chat
o Underwater snorkel tours – like Finding Nemo come to life!
o Venture out to the dive boat every morning

o X-amine (sorry) the souvenirs in the shops along the waterfront and at the Cruise Center

Cute cottage stones through from the beach!

Charming, well stocked old world yet modern cottage. We enjoyed a 5 night stay, rode the bikes all the way north to the lighthouse and as far south as Governors Beach. Rode to lunch at the Sand Bar, dinner at the Osprey house and up the northwest side of the island for a sunset walk; very secluded and beautiful up there! Friendly free roaming dogs and donkeys. Friendly people. Very much enjoyed being immersed in the Grand Turk life.

Perfect beach house

Ideal beach house that I'm fearful to overstate how great it is because I don't want any competition renting it. This home has the perfect beach ambiance. Kitchen fully stocked. Bed more comfortable than my home bed. All located in one of the most relaxing places in the world. I'm shocked if this isn't permanently rented out.

Lovely Cottage, Awesome Value

We had such a fantastic time at Seasongs. Admittedly, we were a bit unprepared for communicating on the island. We didn’t get international roaming and didn’t download “WhatsApp” before we got there which requires a phone call or SMS text to confirm. Eric was still able to communicate with us, and he helped us communicate with our rental car service. The house itself is lovely and comfortable and the locals in the neighborhood were so friendly. The back porch area is a private oasis and the beach near the house was beautiful, not at all crowded, and had a breathtaking view of the sunset. I would recommend this house to any couple or small family that would like experience this beautiful island.

Relax with beautiful people

Seasongs is lovely ! The cottage has a wonderful feel and the screened in lanai is a place to spend lazy mornings . We feel very safe and the bikes have been a perfect way to get around . The locals are incredibly friendly and always a hello and how are you . The occasional bar down the street can play music until 3AM a couple nights a week, so if your a light sleeper bring ear plugs . The donkeys create a neat atmosphere and are so kind. You will encounter numerous dogs however the island continues to evolve with a very good program for spay and neuter . The beaches are spectacular and when the cruise ships aren’t in you literally have the beach to yourself . The colours are amazing . The fish market is super fun and 3 minutes from Seasongs. Very reasonably priced and it doesn’t get any fresher . It’s a step back in time and just what we needed.

Good location for the price.

We stayed from 12/22-12/28/16. There's several pros and cons about the property: Pros: It's across the road from a beautiful quiet beach. The cottage is well stocked with all the amenities that's needed, including beach towels, chairs, and umbrella. The kitchen and bathrooms are clean. Plenty of clean towels and kitchen supplies, including cooking spices and seasonings. Nice comfortable king size bed. Large TV with plenty of channels. Large screened in porch to keep bugs out. Two cruiser bikes for island exploring. The grocery store is around the corner. Everything was functional. The fishermen bring in the fresh catch of the day down the road. The owner was responsive to questions and quick professional booking process. She arranged for a cab to pick us up from the airport. Property manager, Anita, greeted us on arrival to show us the ropes of the place. Cons: The cottage is a bit old and needed some updating. It's very basic but functional. The main thing we didn't like were the ants and other bugs immediately outside the house. You can't avoid stepping on them the moment you step outside. We found some ants on the kitchen counter searching for food regardless of how clean we kept it. Not much of a view since the new houses blocked the view but no fault of the owners. We felt safe at the location despite some of the under developed surrounding regions. The local people are friendly and helpful. It's not a 5 star accommodation but overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful Property

This property has everything you need right down to chip bag clips! The cruiser bikes are an added bonus and great way to see the island. The screened in porch was nice to sit in the evenings to keep the mosquitoes away. Since the property does not have potable water, it was very convenient having a water cooler. The neighborhood is very friendly. We lost count at how many people walking by said good morning to us while we sat out in the front yard at the bistro set enjoying our coffee. Even having something simple like ice cube trays and an ice pack for the portable cooler was not overlooked. The resources provided about local wildlife and islands were very handy and informative. The property is surrounded by trees so it stays pretty cool. It has many windows and fans so we didn’t use AC at all!

Perfect spot on GT!

What a great guest house. Excellent location, easy to get everywhere. Quiet street directly across from the beach. Good food options within 1 minute walk, and the grocery stores are close. There are wild flamingoes a 5 minute walk from the house! It is clear the owners put a lot of thought into the comfort of the guests. Everything you need is provided, from the kitchen to the bedroom. The house is cozy and the bikes make getting around GT so easy. Another big plus was having jugs of water already available that sit on a dispenser that can produce ice cold or piping hot water. I enjoyed sitting on the back porch, was able to get work done with the excellent internet, and slept extremely well. The owners provide an excellent guestbook with lots of information, and there are some great books on the bookshelf that I enjoyed reading so much that I went and bought my own copies at the TCI Museum to take home (Turks Island Landfall and Birds of the TCI). One night I splurged and didn't do any work, but instead watched a great movie on the house's own Netflix account. When I come back to GT, I will look to stay here again without hesitation. Thanks for a great stay!

This is the second time we have stayed here and we will be back again. Eric is amazing at taking care of all of our needs and questions. The property is on the best part of the island with close proximity to everything you need. . Yet far enough not to be bothered by crowds. If you are seeking serenity, privacy, empty beaches, lovely locals, wild horses and dogs. Then this is the place for you! Easily the best little rental on the island.

I recommend this Cottage!

Our family of 4 with 2 teenagers stayed for one week. We liked the proximity to the beach and grocery stores. Most of our nonbeach down time was spent in the spacious porch. It gave us the room to sprawl when wanting our own space. The kitchen had everything needed to make family meals. We rented two more bikes in addition to the two provided. Grand Turk Scuba dropped off the bikes and then picked them up at the end of our stay. This made it easy to access most of the island. Reliable Wi-fi. Air conditioning kept us comfortable for sleeping at night. Our favorite meals out were at The Arches. It’s up by the lighthouse. They post their menu daily on Facebook and it’s a good idea to order ahead of time. They were very willing to accommodate our vegan and vegetarian, plus it was all freshly made and delicious! One day we arranged to have Omar bring us a golf cart for the day. He was great to deal with. I highly recommend Seasongs Cottage for your stay on Grand Turk.

Seasongs Cottage was perfect for us.

This was our first time flying to Grand Turk for a visit and we weren't sure what to expect. The cottage was just as described. Anita, the local property manager, met us at the house to welcome us and provide an overview of how everything worked and gave us some helpful information and directions to nearby restaurants and grocery stores. We rented a golf cart for our stay and traveled the whole island on it, from the lighthouse, to Bohio Dive Resort, to the Cruise Center! There is still a lot of visible devastation from last year's hurricane, but there are also obvious rebuilding efforts ongoing. The cottage did not have TV access while we were there but that was not a negative for us. The WiFi was working which allowed us to stay in touch with family back in the States and share tons of photos. All of the local people we met were very courteous and helpful. More than one actually thanked us for visiting, saying it was the tourism dollars that would help them rebuild quicker. We had some of the wild donkeys come by at least once each day during our stay and saw several of the wild horses elsewhere on the island. We enjoyed swimming and snorkeling and watching the sun set and hope we can return next year for a longer stay! If you're looking for a relaxing vacation with views of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, you'll enjoy Seasongs on Grand Turk.

A very relaxing stay

My husband and I have stayed for 6 nights at Seasongs and truly enjoyed it. I loved the combination of a cute, traditional cottage from outside and the stylish and modern interior. We spent lots of time at the screened-in porch in the backyard, which gives you a sense of perfect privacy. Thanks to the shade the trees provide and the trade winds, it was always a nice and cool place for relaxing. Anita, the caretaker was very nice. Even though the airport pickup with taxi didn't work out as planned due to our flight arriving an hour earlier from Salt Cay, she was quick to arrive at the cottage and show us around. Also she arranged our taxi on the way back. The cottage is well-appointed and perfect for a couple or a small family. The amenities include a small, but fully equipped kitchen, which provides everything you need if you wish to cook your own meals. The bedroom is very stylish with a large and comfortable bed. The living room area is also very nice. There is A/C, but we felt very comfortable with using just the fans and keeping the windows and doors open most of the time. One has to note that there was no internet and satellite TV as advertised. This is understandable as these services are not yet up and running after the two hurricanes last year, however the cottage description does give you the impression that you will have internet and TV. This was a bit of a disappointment, however it didn't have a real negative influence on our holiday. We enjoyed it very much and took use of the very recent DVDs and high quality boardgames provided. Also it was very nice to have two bikes to discover the island. We enjoyed visiting the lighthouse in the north and Governor's beach in the south. This was our favourite beach in Grand Turk. Pillory beach is only a few steps away from the cottage and also very nice, however it can get a bit crowded on days when cruise ships are in town. I liked the cottage's quiet location outside of Cockburn Town. Also it is just a short bike ride or a nice walk away - I especially enjoyed our evening walks to town and the beautiful beach views on the way. Grand Turk is a beautiful island with stunning beaches, wonderful people and a rich history waiting to be discovered. Even though the traces of the storms are still visible, I really enjoyed my visit and hope to return soon. For my next stay I would certainly book Seasongs again.

Very desceving

There was no internet, wifi, or tv ,they should have said that instead of lying about and us finding out when we got there and it was too late to do anything and after we returned to Florida our card was charged and they claimed we trashed the house ,we left the house exactly how we got it, I cleaned it myself, will never stay here again beware!

Beautiful home and beach.

This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a house instead of a resort during our vacation. We found this experience very enjoyable and budget friendly. The Seasong Cottage is very quant and tastefully decorated, as well as in a very nice location. One of the owners, Karen, whom we dealt with, was very accommodating and easy to deal with. She responded to any and all of our questions and concerns in a timely matter. Anita picked us up at the airport and took us to a nearby grocery store. Actually, everything is nearby on Grand Turk. After dropping us off at the house, she came inside and showed us around the property. We walked down the beach to Bohio's for dinner. I suggest skipping this place . While the food is good, the service was terrible and slow. You can do better. This place could be a goldmine if run differently. We encountered one of only two unfriendly people at Bohio's. Nearly everybody is friendly on Grand Turk. On Sunday we used the two bikes provided and took a nice ride to the southern end of the island. This is where we discovered Governor's Beach. This beach is absolutely beautiful. We ended up renting a golf cart for the week and spent everyday at Governor's Beach. The beach is very quite, the snorkeling is nice and there is plenty of sea glass to be found. I recommend the following places to eat: Barbie's, Sandbar and The Grand Turk Inn. Barbie's is about 100 yards south of the cottage. Keep in mind that Grand Turk is a Cruise Island stop. So, for the most part, when the cruise ships are in, shops are open. When the cruise ships are not in, shops are closed. My wife and I did not do any of the excursions. We did, however, snorkel 300 yards or so off shore from the Library to "The Wall". We saw a sea turtle along with other nice fish. We also drove the cart to the Lighthouse and walked around. All in all, our vacation was very relaxing and enjoyable. My wife and I enjoyed seeing the free roaming and friendly dogs, donkeys and horses. However, we would not go back. This decision has nothing to do with the house or beach. Both are wonderful. The Island itself is not very appealing to the eye or nose. The salt ponds are numerous and have a very strong odor. And, there really isn't much to do other than the beaches on Grand Turk. If you do decide to go to Grand Turk, stay at the Seasong. You won't be disappointed. Be sure to visit Governor's Beach. But also, don't be in a hurry. Time has no meaning on Grand Turk.

Charming historic cottage

This lovely cottage is a real gem on the tiny island of Grand Turk. It is spacious, well-stocked, clean and comfortable. Caribbean islanders enjoy a climate that encourages outdoor living, so we were very happy the air conditioning could be used to drown out the sounds of the busy island. Karen and Anita are very helpful, respond quickly to requests, and do their best to accommodate guests. We enjoyed our time living on the local economy in this pleasant cottage.

We will be back

The house is just what we expected. The kitchen is stocked with every utensil you need and enough spices for the week. Beach chairs, bikes and enough towels for the week. The only thing you might want to look into is a golf cart from Omar, best money you will spend and you can literally explore the entire island with it. He will even let you drive it back to the airport. We cooked 3 nights out of the 6 because the locals bring fresh catch at 5 pm every day. You literally walk 6 homes down the street and it's right there. You never know what they will bring in. We ate conch, red snapper and a lobster that was big enough for six people! I wish we would have cooked all six nights, but the restaurants were too good to pass up. Bohio Resort is within walking distance by beach or road, excellent meal, slow service, but you are on island time. Bonnie's kitchen for lunch. She is in town and everything she makes is delicious. Turks Head Inn is a short bike ride away. Dinner was delicious as well and the service was amazing. Osprey is a short bike or golf card drive. We went on a night that they had barbecue. The side dishes (buffet) were amazing and the seafood was perfectly cooked on the grill. We were there during a week that was windy and the cruise ships only landed one day. We virtually had the island to ourselves. When they do come in, it is much busier but fun to watch everyone. Two grocery stores and a liquor store within walking distance. The house is right in the middle of where the locals live, they are extremely helpful and will answer any of your questions since they know everyone and everything on the island. When I passed all the other rentals I looked at on VRBO, I was happy with our location. Right in the middle of things but far enough away. Bring bug spray! No joke, you can't get away from them in and out of the house. Bring lots of cash. I read this, but didn't know the severity. Most stores and the locals only deal in cash. There are banks, but I couldn't get any cash out of the machines and my phone carrier was sketchy. Pack some staples in your suitcase. The stores are super expensive so items like snacks, coffee, dried fruits are helpful to bring. Our experience was so wonderful that we will be back in the near future.

In my work life, I am a real estate investor and a builder, which I have done my entire working career. My wife and two young adult sons are all certified divers. We love the relaxed and friendly lifestyle on Grand Turk. Each time we arrive, we know we've come home.

Why they chose this property

Seasongs is a great house in a fantastic location. Stylish and simple, the cottage has all the comforts necessary to enjoy your time on Grand Turk. We like to cook for ourselves and our friends, and have outfitted the kitchen accordingly. It's nice to be close to the beach and the water without being right on the sand, particularly when there's a storm.

What makes this property unique

Staying in a house with a yard as opposed to a condo or an apartment has some real advantages. You can feel completely at home with no one above, below or next to you. The back patio and screened porch are fully private. Unlike places directly on the beach, no one can walk by and look in. Both the front and back yard are enclosed - guests with young kids have said they loved this. The tree-shaded patios and screened porch provide perfect places to hang out when you want to be outside but not in the sun.

If it's necessary for you to work (hopefully not), there's a desk and fast enough wifi for video conferencing.

Much thought and love has gone into making Seasongs the perfect place to stay on Grand Turk Island.
