Beautiful Gulf Front home at the waves - Southern Breeze

Southern Breeze is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, Gulf Front elevated beach house with unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico.

This family friendly, pet friendly rental is a place where you can expect to spend quality time with your loved ones while watching the waves roll in from an extra large partially covered gulf side deck (47'x16'). Southern Breeze has a fully stocked kitchen (pots, pans, dishes, etc...) and house linens (bath and hand towels, sheets, etc…) are provided.

The SE bedroom has a King Size Bed with walkout sliding glass doors leading the gulf side deck. It has a 32' flat screen TV/DVD combo. The east bedrooms have Jack-and-Jill bathroom that is shared between both rooms. The NE bedroom has two twin beds, a 22' flat screen TV/DVD combo. The SW bedroom has a King Size Bed and also has sliding glass door leading to the gulf side deck. The NW spare bedroom has a queen size bed and a 22' flat screen TV/DVD combo mounted to the wall. The common bathroom is located between the SW King room and the NW Full bedroom, featuring a shower. There is additional sleeping for 2 in the living room on a futon. All rooms have independent satellite TV units.

Please note that the shoreline of Dauphin Island Beaches regularly shifts inward and outward. Properties at the shoreline will experience wave action. Guests will be able to hear the waves and feel the house move. This is normal and should be expected for any home on pilings.

As with all of our Dauphin Island Beach Rentals, all linens and towels are provided, WIFI, along with a fully-outfitted kitchen. There will be a starter pack of toilet paper, paper towels, and trash bags; please plan on bringing more for day 2 ;). A great beach vacation is waiting on you!

Please note the following:
1. Minimum Age for the Primary Renter is 25, and Primary Renter must be present for the entire stay.
2. Maximum Occupancy numbers include Children 3 and over and cannot be exceeded at any time.
3. All of our Homes are Non-Smoking.
4. A signed Rental Agreement is Required, which contains additional Rules and Guidance.
5. This property does not allow weddings or parties.
6. Check-in time is 3 pm, and check-out time is 10 am.
7. Start dishes and linens before departure.
8. Take the trash can to the street on Tuesday night and Friday night.
9. This home is pet-friendly, dogs only, 2-Pet Maximum Limit - $100 pet fee per pet plus tax applies.
10. Cargo lifts are not available to guests and can not be used. They are not permitted by Home Owner Insurance Policies.

Beautiful home, perfect location. The only complaint we have is the mattresses. They were all very hard. Other than that we made do with what was available and had the best time. We really enjoyed the deck over the water and the view. It was perfect and we’re still talking about our trip and wishing we were there!

Family trip with fur babies

We loved our stay at the home. It was a very clean house and the beach is right in your back yard! Great location close to many restaurants. Our dogs loved the large porch and watching the ocean. Would definitely return for another visit.

Very nice and it was cool on/in water. We usually stay on bayside! Was disappointed that there were no, zero, spices or salt pepper! Luckily i did bring some. Also, need a reuseable coffee pod for people expecting a regular coffee pot! Just acouple of suggestions! Enjoyed place very much!

Great house right on the beach

We had an amazing time. Very relaxing . Would recommend this house as a perfect location vacation house. Had a bit of trouble with the refrigerator smelling of shrimp but that is no fault of the owner. Excellent communication with rental company. Highly recommend!!!!!

Beautiful location!!!

First timers on Dauphin Island and it did not disappoint! Loved the atmosphere of this home and the entire island! Check in was super easy. Communication with DIBR was nice. They answered every question or concern I had promptly. Love that the beach is literally underneath you. So only a few steps out and you’re at the water!

The House was very nice and the house was clean. a lot of the linens had a fowl oder and we had to wash them before taking a bath or sleeping. The location was very nice. The only other negative was the barstools and the chairs for the kitchen table was very unstable. But overall our stay was very good. And would love to rent this property again.

Very nice, well kept house, on the water

The house was awesome. Checkin is easy. The house is ON the water. Being in January, I knew that things are a gamble. You never know what the temperature will be. The management company is awesome. We had an issue with extreme rising tides and they came to my rescue (cars rescue from getting too wet). This was done well after working hours. They seem to be always available.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for our Momcation. The home and the beach were perfect for us! When we first got to the property, there was trash around the stairs, and kids beach toys and lawn chairs on the balcony, so it made us think we were at the wrong location. We called the host, and immediately got an answer. She confirmed we were at the correct location and the cleaners must have left those things from the previous stay. Once we got in the home, everything was as described, and perfect for us. The beach balcony is large, and having a partial covering allows for sun/no sun. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Family Thanksgiving holiday

The house is attractive and comfortable for 4 couples, with a marvelous deck overlooking beach and Gulf. However, 2 concerns give it just 4 stars: 1)The house network was unable to connect to the Internet during our stay. 2) One queen bed has a terribly noisy mattress that interfered with sleep. (There is now a new house on top of the pilings behind it, but loud noise from it is saisfactorily muffled inside the property.

We do not recommend this property. Had trouble accessing the door code and couldn’t get thru to the rental company for an hour. A random guy walked up and shared the code with us which did not give us peace of mind traveling with young girls.He had friends that had stayed there prior. The rental company stated the code couldn’t be changed. There is mold on the ceiling in several rooms throughout the house. The dryer doesn’t dry. The waves were so loud and powerful that the house shook all night hard enough to wake us from sleeping. So loud on the back deck that we couldn’t carry on conversation because we couldn't hear. The weather was beautiful but the noise and house movement was overstimulating. Sounded like a severe thunderstorm constantly. We asked for a refund but were denied. Checked out 24 hours early.

Escape from the north.

We had a great week on the island! Took advantage of local tourist destinations, the fort, aquarium, ferry, Bellingrath gardens and steamed cuisine. Highly recommend all the above! The house was very comfortable. Choosing to believe that previous tenants and not the cleaning crew hid the dirty frying pans, not cool. On deck grill was great. Loved the surf outside and under the house after the storm, what a delightful experience. Bring some citronella just in case the breeze dies and you want to sit on the deck. The ONLY drawback was the connectivity. Had to do a teleconference out in the empty lot. We also had difficulty with the tv in the living area. Management had someone come out right away monday morning which was good. Jiggled the cord which restored signal, pronounced a new cord was needed, but never came back. He might of come back while we were out but didn't leave a note or a new cord, so.... anyway, we had a great week and look forward to returning to the island in the future.

57 Years Loving Dauphin Island!

Easter weekend, 1963, was the first visit to Dauphin Island, AL. I was 10 years old, my sister was 6 months. My family fell in love with the island. Now both of us have kept the tradition with our families and our children continue to the fourth generation. We remember when this property was built. It now is partially over the water due to a series of storms and hurricanes. The house is lovely, inviting, well stocked, we enjoyed every minute. Just a suggestion, we are now senior adults. We need better information on property accessibility, upkeep and most all storm recovery to the island and roads. We had a very difficult time getting into the house because the street and parking had not been cleared from the Dept. Hurricane Ida. Although DIBR had requested a clean up that the street this property was on the staff at DIBR came to help us carry our stuff across the sand. We still had to park on the main road making it difficult to access our car to go out. Perhaps your company could establish some policies on collaborating with the local governments doing the storm recovery.

Spring Break

The house is in a great location..very close to the water so there wasn’t a hike to the beach with bags and beach toys. Enjoyed that we were able to bring our dog along. The whole island seemed pet friendly. The cleanliness of the property is where the good review ends. On initial glance, everything seemed ok. We were very much mistaken. There was trash left under the beds/furniture and enough sand/dirt for our own beach. The walls and base boards were filthy. There were thick layers of dust on the ceiling fans. Lamps hadn’t been wiped down. One of the bathrooms smelled like a urinal. The property manager was quick to respond to my call but did not correct the problem, only gave us gift cards. We didn’t need gift cards, we needed a clean place to stay.

A place to get over love ones passed

We went because we had planned with our mother to see ocean in 2020 but she ended up passing away unexpectedly in 2/2021. We decided to go on with trip. We lost power for over 8bhrs but was reimbursed by the owner. Other than the roaches we had a wonderful stay.
