Beautiful ranch with nice views. The house is old but very clean and smells fresh. The beds are pretty comfy. The place is very spacious for my friends and our dogs. We will definitely consider it again in the future.
This property was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. The Ranch House has plenty of room for each of us to spread out and have our own space, and the grounds are lovely with the abundance of farm animals all around and the picturesque mountain setting. The horseback riding trail along the river is not to be missed; the trail guide is wonderful! Also close to many other things to do in the area, that is if you want to leave... This was our first time here and we are already planning for the next visit! (One small note: there wasn't any soap in the bathrooms, so be sure to bring your own. But plenty of very clean towels/linens. Also a tip: the dishwasher is hidden in the laundry room! Internet connection is spotty, but who cares--you're on vacation!)
Tucked back off of the main roads, you don't have to worry about lots of extra traffic. Horse rides are available along with lots of opportunities to see chickens, sheep, horses, cows, and a pig. The house was roomy and had a fully stocked kitchen.
The home matched the pictures and the prior ratings - the experience exceeded our expectations. The scenery was beautiful. The kids loved being near the animals. We even received farm fresh eggs one day. I would absolutely return if/when we need time away to relax and reset.
We really enjoyed the ranch house. Everything we needed for a weekend with friends. The River access is amazing and everyone on the farm was friendly. We enjoyed the option of the trail rides too. We’ll definitely be back!
Super clean property - the first I’ve stayed at in this area that did Not have stink bugs. Really loved the hammocks, horses, and farm animals. Grateful they had a pet friendly location. Wish some of the other properties had that option as well. Gracious and kind staff. Cannot fully explain how gorgeous of a frame the blue ridge mountains were in each direction. We did pony and trail rides - both positive experiences. Learned they do offer private lessons as well which we may try in the future. A nice 15 minute hike each way to the river too, navigable by our 5 year old and partially our 2 year old.
This place is a perfect location for a weekend getaway from the city. It is spacious and very clean. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Host was responsive and helpful. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay.
We had a great stay at the River's Bend Ranch over Thanksgiving week. Adult children drove in from various locations for a very relaxing holiday. Quiet and peaceful, it was nice to get away from all of the election and pandemic news and enjoy some quality Family time.
Everyone there at the Ranch was very nice to work with.
House was very clean and had everything we needed. Kitchen had all the cooking utensils. Internet / cell phone service was good enough to "work from home." Had several nice walk on the river path, and hiked in the Shenandoah National Park.
All in all, a very nice experience. We will be back.
Our family of four, including a three year old and six year old thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The Ranch house was clean and well appointed with everything you needed to make a meal if you wished. The decor is slightly dated but the place was super clean and the property is so gorgeous with the horses right at the front door, what more could you ask for. Our six year old really enjoyed the hammocks out front and going down to the river to play. We would highly recommend for families or any one looking for a nice get away from the hustle and bustle. Peace and quiet abounds with gorgeous scenery to enjoy as well.
We had a wonderful weekend at the Ranch House. House is very clean, property is beautiful and we enjoyed walking around the farm and to the river. Close to great hiking trails (Kennedy Peak is 20 minutes away). We hope to be back soon!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at The Ranch House! The house was spacious, comfortable, and located on a beautiful ranch in the Shenandoah Valley. Besides having an “old house” smell, the house was clean. My family stayed at the ranch to hike Shenandoah National Park. The ranch is around 1 hour away from hiking.
This place is BEAUTIFUL! The property has amazing views and is very close to Shenandoah park.
My friends and I had such a great time here. The house had everything we needed to cook dinners and enough room for everyone to either hangout or take a nap upstairs after a long day of hiking. The property is gorgeous and gives amazing views. Would highly recommend this getaway for anyone wanting to spend some much needed time in nature.
Cheers!
This was an incredibly relaxing getaway for me, my wife, and a few friends. The property was incredible and everything was so beautiful. Can’t wait to go back.
Great stay, very clean farmhouse. House is stocked with all needed supplies. The ‘game room’ building was great, much more for the kids to do than advertised. Although it is a working farm, we felt blissfully secluded. The few people we did encounter on the ranch were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the horseback riding. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor (our tween and teen loved her).
Convenient location for hiking, fishing and rafting. We hope to return.
My family went to River’s Bend for a few days’ getaway from pandemic/quarantine reality. Our stay was wonderful, and we really enjoyed very peaceful and serene surroundings, horses and cats at our doorsteps, long walks along the river with our young dog who saw farm animals for the very first time. The staff was very responsive and helpful, with good suggestions for places to visit nearby. I would recommend visiting River’s Bend, especially if you’d like to “unplug and get away from it all”
The ranch house was perfect for our group of 7 (plus a kid and 2 dogs). The property was beautiful and the river access and trail ride option added to the wonderful experience. We loved all the animals around! Check in and check out was a breeze and the office staff was super friendly and helpful.
