Water-lovers dream waterfront cottage 15 min to Annapolis, Navy Academy & 40 min from DC with perfect paddleboarding waters, sandy little beach for kids, fishing gem, pickleball courts & private ramp for boats out your back door. Vacation or commute! Welcome to our favorite place to pop in & out on weekends or lazy afternoons. Grab your laptop, zoom from the porch or office - and still get on the water between meetings! Need to run home to DC for a swimsuit or favorite stuffy you forgot? Done!
The space has a surprise view as you walk towards the kitchen and a surprising number of bedrooms too! While there is only one shower, there is another half bath and an outdoor shower being built now. The rooms are petite but each has a dresser and closet and fits a queen bed. The beds are all foam mattresses with a Tempurpedic in the Propeller Room.
The rooms, living room and kitchen belong exclusively to guests. There is a laundry room with an outdoor entrance and an indoor entrance that is locked, where the cleaners and owners may come and go. Please note - we do provide a small volume washer for your use next to the fridge to wash out your swimsuits or kids clothes in small loads. There is currently not a dryer. We keep 2 small owners’ closets in the home which are locked.
The home has a loft area you’ll see in the living room but this is not accessible to guests. We’ve used it as storage. There is no proper floor to walk on so we do not allow guests access. It’s just not usable space at this point.

We had an absolutely great stay! Such a cozy spot on the water. House has some quirks which to me makes it more fun (I'm a contractor). We were there for a USNA event so got to spend a ton of quality time with my daughter there for Plebe Summer. Plenty of room, beds and linens were quality. Kitchen was well stocked for home cooked meals. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. Can't wait for our next trip!
Amazing place! We were in town for a lacrosse tournament. 3 moms and three 13 year old boys had a blast! Boys spent hours on the water, mom relaxed on the deck! Clean, comfortable, everything we needed!

Thank you for coming. Love to have you back anytime.
Amazing, very clean place, nicely decorated, quiet, relaxing, perfectly prepared. Warmly welcomed. Very quick response in the communication. The gear for watersports was wonderful, very friendly neighborhood. We definitely want to come back! Thank you Paul!
The property was nice and quaint, with a great layout and excellent amenities. Its central location made it easy to access nearby restaurants and nightlife, which was a bonus. We had no complaints and hope to stay again in the future.
This property earns 5 stars in every category. It just feels like home! This place feels like the cottage you come back to year after year, and we just might! It’s beautifully decorated, with the sweetest details and charm. Our trip was originally supposed to be DC focused, but as soon as we arrived in Riva we fell in love and cut our DC portion short to explore the Annapolis area more, and we still have so much more to see. The amenities were great! We didn’t use the kayaks or paddle boards but it was a nice option. Our family spent the majority of time fishing and crabbing off the fishing dock. Which if you travel the brick road, take a left at the sewer drain, that takes you down to the fishing dock stairs which are a bit hidden. Shoutout to the sweet neighbor who directed us where to go! For food we ordered Capo Italian deli subs night one, they delivered, were affordable, and so delicious. What you see is what you get kinda deal but in the best way. We went to Mikes another night (at the recommendation of the house manual) and food was again amazing! Service was eh, but the food is worth it. I can’t say enough good things about this place, I’d recommend it over and over again!
Great location with access to the water and nice views. If you are coming here to cook its not the most well appointed kitchen but the basics are covered. The room with the double twin beds is very noisy like if you turn over the whole frame creeks. We wound up using the trundles instead the second night to avoid the noise. Its clean, and lovely, very cozy. It will feel tight if you are coming off season and need to stay inside.
We loved our stay at this cottage so much! We were in town for Plebe Parents Weekend at the Naval Academy and the location was perfect. We traveled with two of our kids and our plebe's best friend. The accomodations were clean and comfortable and exceeded my expectations. The sheets, towels, bedding, and pillows were in excellent conditions and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for the weekend. I always appreciate when VRBOs have salt and pepper and paper towels and this property had so much more on hand that added to the convenience. Our favorite part was the back porch and the view of the river. The sunrises in the mornings were absolutely spectacular and we got to try out stand up paddle boards for the first time. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future!
Everything was as listed in the description. Communication was great with host and quick to help or give information needed. Very clean. My older kids loved the stay and having access to the games and fishing pole.
We enjoyed the space for a small family retreat and being that it was on the water hoped to enjoy more fishing, and crabbing which wasn't allowed. Luckily Mike’s Restaurant is a 5 min drive and a great option for crabs. There was a bit of confusion as to the accessibility to the water and pier, so just be aware that the view is amazing; compliments to the Creator. The space is located in a community that restricts boating and access so not recommended for recreational use if you're not familiar with the area or not ready to explore more options in rentals. Though the space wasn't the most private, the views were spectacular and worth booking just for the peace and quiet, or a work from home staycation option. The house was very clean on the inside and well stocked for guests' needs. beware of the bird poo on the back patio and furniture. The quick evening rains did well with washing them off, and drying them out for a night's under the stars.

We’re so glad you enjoyed your stay. There is access to a boat ramp and community dock by private walkway directly out our backyard gate. It is insanely convenient for transporting kayaks or paddle boards. We understood you did not intend to bring a boat so we didn’t arrange vehicular access to the boat ramp with you, which is otherwise locked for vehicles but not for walkers. To our knowledge, you didn’t bring a boat. The fishing pier is a few min walk and the welcome book has a map with these directions. We explained this a few times ahead of your stay. Boat ramp areas are always restricted from fishing since no one wants hooks in their feet. Fishing is most definitely allowed on the other dock and the fish are hungry and huge, especially in the cooler months. We’d be happy to have you back then and we’re glad Mike’s took good care of you all!
