As you can see, my efforts were paid back by many great comments from all my previous guests. Unfortunately, with the same apartment and the same quality of service (even more), I was not able to make you satisfied. I feel so sorry. I find your review very unfair as you seem to have forgotten to mention what I have done to solve your problems that were mainly due to your inability. Even it was beyond my duty as a host but i was genuinely happy to do it for you without any hesitation.
Being a host with 2 apartments listed on VRBO for more than 7 years, this was the worst experience that you gave me.
Let’s us start with the communication difficulties that we had prior to your arrival. I have tried my best to provide you with swift replies to all your questions and yet, there was a lot of confusion during our exchanges as you used multiple conversation threads linked to old reservation on the website.
Upon arrival, you drove to Lyon and you managed to lose your way to my apartment after many attempts even though you had a car GPS. In the end I must walk for 1.5km to find you on the street and lead you to the apartment. Not to mention that I even offered to get into your car with your husband to show him the way to the underground parking because he couldn't find the parking which is located approximately 300m from the apartment.
Upon check-in, I explained everything in the apartment and gave you many useful tourist information doing my best to make your stay a wonderful one. It took me almost 2h to do that, which normally doesn’t last more than 20min. Moreover, you still couldn't manage to use most of the machines and appliances despite my long explanations and all the English user manuals that you can easily find in the kitchen.
Regarding your dissatisfaction with the quantity and quality of the towels. Normally if the guests stay more than a week, I will give extra towels. For your stay (2 persons), I gave you 6 large and 4 small towels which should be ample for a comfortable stay, knowing that there is a washing machine with integrated dryer in the apartment. Of course, it depends on everyone, but you can always request for more if you are in need and I will be happy to provide any necessary items with no additional charge. Unfortunately, I didn't get any request from you during your stay.
I never had any problem in the main shower, but I do offer a kind reminder to all my guests - to go slowly to prevent insufficient discharge of water as the gradient of the discharge is not sufficient. I find it weird for you to mention it in your review, knowing that you have never informed me about this issue.
During your stay, you sent me a message telling me that the door was open when you came back from the city, claiming that someone came in but nothing was stolen. At the end, it was your own fault that you didn't close the door properly. At the same time, I came over to demonstrate again how to use the washing machine and coffee machine, to reconfigure the TV (honestly, I have no idea what you have done to it). The TV was reconfigured in no time and instruction given again how to use it, alongside with a list of international channels that you can watch. It is a smart TV, there is no problem to find Netflix. Let me kindly remind you that after the reconfiguration of the TV, my husband has tried it again, it was all set in the presence of your husband. If it was not working, you should have informed me again, but you didn’t. At the end of this more than an hour of visit to the apartment, and as requested I even provided you a long list of good restaurants in the city.
After one week, you sent me another message telling me that it was cold in the apartment. Again, it made me question the 1h explanation that I gave during the check-in included on how to adjust the temperature inside the apartment with the thermostat. Anyway, I reminded you about it and even offered you to come over and check just in case.
At the end of your stay, you didn't leave the apartment in good order, many appliances and small tools were misplaced, I spent time to retrieve them and to get them back to their rightful place.
If you consider 88m2 (947 sq ft) apartment is small, then I would suggest that you find a Presidential Suite in a 5-star hotel if you come back to Lyon, with a valet service. There are plenty in Lyon.
