About the host
Hosted by Chris Pollock
We are fortunate to also own a home on Hood Canal, located on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Our passion for water and related activities has drawn us to make our home near the water, a setting we deeply enjoy. With a daughter and grandchildren residing in both locations, we cherish the opportunity to split our time evenly between them. Being able to spend half the year in each place, and particularly to enjoy Florida while having roots in the Pacific Northwest, has been incredibly rewarding for us.
Why they chose this property
Our Palm Coast residence holds a unique position as one of the few homes that border the largest turning basin in the Palm Coast canal system. This provides us with the luxury of overlooking approximately four acres of water, where dolphins play and penguins dive, ensuring there is always something captivating to watch beyond just another house across the canal. The neighborhood, know as "Sailboat Country" is conveniently close to the intracoastal waterway. Plus, less than 10 minutes to the beach, shopping, dining, golf and many watersport options.
What makes this property unique
The expansive basin serves as a perfect backdrop for relaxation and leisure. Large hedges line both sides of our property, creating a very private atmosphere.
The entire back of our home is dedicated to covered recreational space. Here, you will find a spacious dining table, a barbecue, a glass table accompanied by two cushioned chairs, a settee surround a gas fireplace, and a bar area with stools. In addition, there are chairs and lounge chairs placed around the pool for ultimate comfort. as well as pool toys.
One of the highlights inside the house is the beautiful mitered kitchen window above the kitchen sink. Washing dishes is far from a chore when you look out to 180 degree view of the pool, people kayaking in the basin, guests enjoying the outdoor seating, and the diverse wildlife that frequently visit--all from on vantage point.
Our bathrooms feature elegant basin sinks and lighted mirrors, while the kitchen is thoroughly stocked with a wide variety of utensils, bowls, and cooking tools, as well as a gas stove. The utility room is an added convenience, making it easy to pack lightly and do laundry as needed during your stay.
For those looking to enjoy the water, the property provides three large, stable,sit-on-top kayaks and a stand-up-paddleboard(SUP), perfect for exploring the basin and making the most of this waterfront location. We also have a boat charter who will pick you up at our dock for a sunset cruise, shopping in St. Augustine, fishing or just sight seeing, he even plays the guitar!
