Grands Vacation

Perfect location at the complex

This condo is possibly the most convenient location at the complex as it is right off the walkway to the beach and just a building away from one of the pools. While the unit needs some upgraded furnishings/ decor and a deep cleaning, the bed was comfortable and there were plenty of extra blankets and towels. It definitely served its purpose for our family!

We asked for early checkin which meant nothing. When we arrived early our room was not read so we got put on the we are here list. 2.5 hours later when we had inmobile family showing up we still hadnt received a text our room was ready. When we went to guest service they said oh it just got done. We get in there and it was not cleaned. There were bloody towels in the shower and it was gross. So they supposedly cleaned but come to find out the next day they left us with the nasty comforters from the previous guest because the only way you can get a comforter cleaned there is to drop it off and come back because they are specific to the room. We had to be in the room while the cleaned and they never took them and brought them back. There were bugs in the silverware drawer and cockroaches in the pot and pans. If you want a cheap roach infested place to stay thats what you will get. Also dont expect to be cool and comfortable either they will not let you turn down the air-conditioning.

This should be relayed to people prior to agreeing to rent this condo. When I went check in, I explained this to office personnel. One person did not receive well and was defensive. I stay at sandpiper often and have stayed in many different condos over the last thirty years, not all rented under my name. I will never stay in this condo again!!!

Perfect location!

Positives: 1) Location is perfect if you are interested in beach and pool. Basically just down from the main gate. Extremely short walk across the road to The Sand Flea (bar/restaurant) & private white sand beach. 2) The pool (one of many in the complex) is very close & has three hot tubs! If you have no car, you can walk easily to La Pas…great Mexican food. Also short walk to more upscale Louisiana Lagniappe (wonderful food) which is inside the resort. 3) Well stocked kitchen as far as dishes & pans. Drip coffee maker (take filters!), blender, toaster. 4) Double sink in vanity. 5) Did provide 2 dishwasher packets & small dish soap. Thank you! 6) Patio was small but nice enough for two…it does have Morning sun! 7) Nice size TV in Living/Dining area. Couches were older but comfy! Negatives; 1) No updates in bathroom or kitchen & dated decor (not a deal breaker with us) 2) Bed was so-so. We’ve slept on worse but definitely better. 3) Tiny ANTS showed up in kitchen and there was absolutely no food out to attract them! I messaged the host & they sent someone out to spray the next morning. Prompt response;) Seemed to help but last day they were back. 4) Very tight between toilet & tub/shower. 5) Could use more hangers. 6). NO hair dryer! 7) Not a single roll of paper towels but did have enough TP;-) 8) Daylight will wake you about 5:30 am. Blinds but sheer curtains. 9). Very small TV in bedroom but it works;-) We did enjoy our vacation;-) Hope you do too!

A real nightmare!

(Never happened).When we paid 11/2022 asked for mailbox key, told yes. So we transferred our mail, unaware that we would b sharing mailbox w/owner! On arrival, no hot water in shower, toilet seat cracked, chipped, stained; tissue holder falling off wall; sliding door very hard to open because rollers off ; dryer not secured, rusted, & grease stained towels & our clothes; all windows & doors have lost there seal so u couldn’t even look out of them! We only asked sandpiper if any of these could b fixed which is normal procedure w/sandpiper.Because owner did not like our request for possible fixes we were evicted when only into 2 weeks of our 8 week rental. We were notified 1/31 & told to b out by 10 am 2/1!. Sandpiper as well as myself, begged owner not to do this! My wife as asthma and cannot do steps into condo we were to b moved to. We worked on moving till midnight plus few hours next day. It was exhausting to say the least!

Although our weather was cloudy and rainy during this stay I could honestly see where keeping the thermostat at 75 degrees on hot sunny days might be an issue. A DUMP!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit does not need to rented to anyone. It is a complete Dump! I need of MANY repairs and the office takes responsibility for NOTHING. The dryer doesn’t work, the patio light fixtures are broken, the front door and patio door doesn’t work, kitchen sink sprayer is broken, bathroom doors sound like prison doors closing, etc. I could write a book. Please do NOT RENT this unit!
