We had a wonderful stay in Cherry Valley. The living room is comfortable, the bedrooms are great, and the kitchen has everything you need. Lisa was a fine host, very responsive and quite friendly. We highly recommend this place for a visit to the Cooperstown area.

It’s an old house, which is fine, but has been minimally and inadequately maintained and furnished (examples: no lamps other than center ceiling in most rooms; no effective bedside tables in two bedrooms, no place to hang a towel in the bathroom). The access from the kitchen to the “dining porch” is through a filthy space that is obviously a part of the garage, but separated by a tarp—not a wall--, with a hole in the roof. External doors did not close properly. In places the floorboards were clearly weak (past water and/or insect damage). Windows and sills had not been cleaned in ages. Extra/clean (?) linens are just bundled up and piled into one bedroom closet. Stayed one night out of the required three-night stay, and left. Be very cautious about renting this place

Thanks for posting pictures of another house.. Whose yard is that? The house is furnished exactly as it is in the pictures.
Love the quaint appeal of the house. Met some neighbors very friendly. Visited a shop near there very unique. Every thing was near by went for train ride A boat tour on a lake in Cooperstown Howes Caverns and other places. My friends and I really enjoyed it we are thinking of coming back in the future. We even had a small furry visitor daily. We had all the necessities.

This property was less than we expected but it was obvious that it was still a work in progress, with a very nice newly remodeled bathroom. That being said, we were comfortable and the property was clean. The window air conditioners and fans were adequate to keep the house cool. We were visiting family so only slept and ate breakfast there. It would have been a challenge to prepare and eat all meals there.

The house was adequate for our needs during this stay. The descriptions provided were not all accurate. Parking was on the front lawn and very tight for a large SUV. The floor on both the ground and second level was warped and not even, this included in the kitchen where pots would slide down the stovetop. The 6person dining table was outside of the main house and hazardous to get too. The description of the village and location of the home was not accurate for our stay timeframe such as all the stores/restaurants closed and the lake being over 20 minutes away. The bathroom was updated and was very nice as well as the laundry facility and bedding. The communication with the host was also timely and responsive.

You should have left. Really, you are the only person who has complained of warped floors, pots falling from the stove and hazardous entry. Which it is not. It’s an old 150 year old house. You were provided a google map with shopping and a 20 minute path to Cooperstown. The village stores are all open Tuesday through Saturday. Try the Holiday Inn next time.
Here's the run down: this is a relatively well kept property for it's age (150 yrs old!). It's a very small 2 story house with a quite large backyard. The exterior views of the house are from the backyard although the living room faces the front.Parking is limited as the garage was not accessible to host a minivan. There is only 1 bathroom which is on the 1st floor with the sleeping quarters primarily on the 2nd floor. If you are older then not having a bathroom within a few steps of your bedroom may be a significant challenge. The bathroom and adjacent laundry room are well appointed. The washer and dryer are brand new as is the bathroom furnishings. Wifi was excellent. Although we didn't do any cooking a microwave would have been nice for restaurant leftovers, etc. There is no "view" from the living room per se so this house makes for a very convenient "crash pad" if you are in town for some outdoors fun or the hall of fame or a baseball camp as it's just at the edge of what I'd call a convenient distance (30 min) to Cooperstown. Not sure I would have enjoyed the stay if I was planning to spend any significant time at the property beyond sleeping. Although I definitely could have gotten work done with the great Wifi and sleepy neighborhood vibes.Don't get me wrong, we enjoyed our stay and the price was comparatively affordable. It was a great place to rest our heads in between days at Cooperstown Dream Park baseball camp. I'd definitely stay there again.
This was a cute little house in a sweet town. Neighbors were great. Be sure to write down instructions for getting in before you get there because there is little signal so if you wait it is hard to get info the get in. The host has done a great job of decorating and providing everything we needed. The house is really old and has quirks like the door is hard to close as floors as not even. We were able to cook, even do laundry. All in all we enjoyed our stay just know you’re going to stay in a really old house with quirks in it. Thank you Lisa for being a great host.
