About this property

Niseko's Most Secluded & Tranquil Luxury Property

If Niseko is world-reknowned for its crystalline, dry-ash champagne powder, then our home, Solitude, is likewise known for it's 400m walk to the Grand Hirafu lifts on the Hanazono side of the mountain, home of the famed Strawberry Fields.

Solitude boasts big sunshine, a wine cellar, a perfect 180 degree view of Mt. Yotei, deep snow drifts for the kids and plenty of elegant space for the adults. You can leave your skis at the 308 Lodge at no charge if you rent the gear from them, walk back to the house each day in your comfy apres-ski boots, and then free yourself of your gear in our hot and toasty dry room.

Solitude represents quiet seclusion, while simultaneously providing immediate access to the lift each morning, without any need for a shuttle bus pick-up. Hirafu-Hanazono shuttle bus is running every 30 minutes during ski season should you wish to explore vibrant Hirafu for dining, shopping, night life, and several hot springs.

If you are seeking a true alpine experience at Niseko, then our home might be a good fit for you. Town restaurants and bars are but a 15-minute drive away.

Summer time in Niseko is action packed - whether it is fly-fishing, trekking, mountain biking, wakeboarding, golfing or tree climbing, you will find it all at Niseko HANAZONO Resort. The famous and picturesque Niseko Tokyu Golf Course is only 5 minute walk from the house.

Amazing Location great for family
Wonderful property in a great location. 5 min walk (2min drive) from Hanazono lifts. Couldn’t be easier to get to the lift. House is very well Equipt. There are no instruction manuals but internet is clearly marked on model and good high speed. Use google translate images to easily translate Japanese appliances. We had a wonderful stay thank you so much! Highly recommend :)

Fabulous Trip to Japan
The property is so conveniently located to the ski resort and worked out great for our group. We would absolutely stay at this property again. It has been a week since our departure and I have not yet received any notification regarding the refund of the deposit; however, I did reach out to the host and hope to hear back soon.

An Amazing Ski Lodge
This is an amazing property. It is about as close to ski in- ski out as you can find around Hanazono/Niseko (in Niseko only 2 hotels are even on the slopes, and presently none in Hanazono) until the new hotels are built, The combination of convenience and luxury is unmatched. Heated towel racks, balconies, Japanese soaking tubs, and a spectacular view of Mt Yotei. An easy walk to the Hanazono lifts which are quieter and less crowded than other Niseko lifts, also boasting the best ski school for families. You can definitely ride to the top of the mountain and ski down the Niseko side without much difficulty unless winds are high. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and the owners were very supportive and helpful. We've Stayed in many nice places in Colorado and Utah and this was our favorite ski vacation. You can get around on the free shuttle bus but if you are brave enough to drive in Japan (which we found manageable) .it opens up a whole world of onsens and great restaurants in KutchanCho. Our favorite sushi place is Yotei Maru, a sushi-Go round with excellent selection. Car rental is available in Niseko. While the new hotels may be a bit closer, Solitude is more private and well appointed. Our family created a lot of great memories here. Also the resort lodge in Hanazono is MUCH nicer than Niseko. Lift tickets are very affordable and the lodge is happy to store your ski equipment.

Amazing and cozy chalet for families seeking tranquility
Solitude has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped and the big dining/living area with Mr. Yotei view is so nice and relaxing. We had 4 adults and 4 children, and it was very comfortable for the 8 of us. Hanazono 308 lodge is only 7 or 8 minutes away. You can walk there if you leave the skis at the lodge overnight. I recommend running a big grocery run to Kutchan. It must be a beautiful place to visit in the summertime, too.

About the host

My husband and I built the house in Niseko to get away from high-paced city life, enjoy some serious skiing during the winter season, and spend some quality and quiet time with family and exploring hiking and biking trails during the summer time.

Why they chose this property

Excellent fresh powder skiing is less than 10 minute walk from the house.
We enjoy the summer in Niseko as much as the fresh powder snow. It truly is a beautiful area with incredible scenery, excellent food, hot springs, endless activities, and tranquility.

What makes this property unique

180 degree view of Mt. Yotei is simply breathtaking weather she is fully covered in snow or golden during autumn. A popular golf course is just 10 minutes walk away, too. You can enjoy an outdoor activity during the day and come back to crack some wine open from our wine cellar while enjoying the sunset. It is a very tranquil, secluded and peaceful place.
