About this property

N Falmouth Flax Pond Waterfront with Swans

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Less than a mile to the Megansett beach. House sits on a 3 acres waterfront on Flax Pond. The view out the picture windows feel more like you are on a boat than in a house. Enjoy the view from the upper deck or the coziness of the gas fire pit on the lower deck. Also very close to the rail trail and bike rental shop.

Beautiful home with amazing water views of Flax or Trout pond. 5 bedroom 3.5 bath with 2 living areas and a sunroom/screened porch depending on the time of year that you visit. In the summer the screens are installed so as to make it a screened porch. The house sits on a very large lot which some of are wetlands.

You are welcome to use any part of the property except for the attic. I would also not swim in the pond. Snapping turtles live in the waters and mate in June I think and can be seen around the edge of the waters. Make sure the littles know they are dangerous and leave them alone.

Watching the resident swans play with a family of river otters while sipping our morning coffee in front of the big bay widows made this trip unforgettable. A bald eagle stopped by one morning as well. So awesome.

My daughter stayed here with her bridal party and fiance the weekend of her August 2025 wedding (they stayed for five days). The house was beautiful, clean, nicely and comfortably furnished, with lots of windows looking out at the adjacent pond and marshlands. The house easily accommodates larger groups with multiple bedrooms and bathrooms (the latter was an important criterion!) and plenty of seating areas, indoors and out, for communal gatherings or finding space for solitude time. The house is in a quiet residential area, just off a 2-lane side road and around the corner from a busier road; the property and surrounding marshland is sufficiently large that the busier road is scarcely noticeable from the house--it feels like a quiet little paradise. Flax Pond and the adjoining marsh areas provide a serene backdrop but are not for recreational use. We were concerned that mosquitoes might be a factor, but they were a non-issue--none seen and no bug bites reported!Leslie was friendly and easy to communicate with, responding promptly to queries via VRBO messaging (she does not appear to be locally located), and was able to accommodate our daughter's request for an earlier check-in time, which was much appreciated.(Note to walkers: The 2-lane side road has no sidewalks, but the nearby busier road has sidewalks and is a pleasant and well-used walking route that goes past nearby attractive homes and neighborhoods.)
