This house is in the perfect location. We walked to great restaurants, shops, historic sites, etc. The house itself was great for 4 women in their 50s, with two bedrooms and a bath on each floor. The common area was clean and inviting. We all loved it.
The location was ideal. The property is historic but with a modern kitchen and facilities. We didn't spend a lot of time in the house because we spent our time out and about walking and touring. The living room had just enough space for our group of 6 and the table was used for dining and to play games. There were extras such as games, cards, charger, umbrellas, beach towels, bathroom and shower amenities and even a kite. There is an air conditioner for each bedroom which keeps it cool but didn't dehumidify much. We couldn't get the TV to work but didn't really miss it. We didn't use the dishwasher because it had standing water inside. Since we ate out nearly every meal we just hand washed a few items. The courtyard is inside the house and has a canopy but it has some tears and when it rains some water can get to the floor which has a drain. We brought these issues to Raphael's attention and he apologized for the inconvenience and will be looking into rectifying the problems. Please don't take these comments as negativity as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend the property.
We had a great stay at this home. All the beds were very comfortable. The afternoon we arrived, we had no electricity due to a power grid problem in that area. It was repaired about 9:15. No other problems. There is a good climb to get to the “action” (out door to left) and driveway to Governors house if you turn right. Guard presence in the area is higher as a result of the entrance.
Location is A. As a spaniard colonial house, A too. It's very clean and well equipped. This vacation among other experiences we did the Bad Bunny Concert. Next time Fiestas de la Sanse Street !!!
Great location. Convenient access to everything you want.
Great location on a quieter very pretty street close to everything you want to see in Old San Juan. Host was accommodating and easy to talk to. Over all great trip!
We had an amazing stay! The hosts have clearly been very thoughtful about this beautiful historic property. It has a wonderful balance between original features and up-to-date amenities and appliances. Phenomenal location, with easy walking to anywhere in Old San Juan. Very detailed instructions for check-in (including getting to the property), for all the features of the house, and check out. Air conditioning felt great, but the parts of the house cooled by fans were also delightfully comfortable. It was charming and comfortable, and we had a great stay here.
This is the second time we’ve stayed here. It is the perfect location in old San Juan- quiet but close to shopping, restaurants, the Gate and other sites. Great owners and great charm.
We loved the location of the property and loved the house too. There were plenty of places to eat close by and so many things to see in the immediate area. We would definitely stay again.
Everything about this property was excellent – location couldn't be beat, the property was up-to-date and clean, air conditioners worked in the bedrooms, fans only in the main space, just be aware this is in the city so there are no windows in the bedrooms downstairs and minimal upstairs, you can open the portals in the windows in the front doors and natural lighting comes from the canopy ceiling in the patio. We loved our week in Puerto Rico.
Visited family in Old Town for the weekend before heading to the beach! Such a great location with everything you need a walk away. The property is classic Old Town nestled in the heart of it all. Would definitely stay again if we return to San Juan.
This property is a lovely, well-kept historic home in a perfect location to easily get around Old San Juan. The home is well appointed and the beds were very comfortable. Great air conditioning in the bedrooms and all the appliances you would need.
This place is an absolutely perfect place for a small group vacation. All the amenities of a home, plenty of privacy for each group. Super super charming and in the heart of Old San Jaun. Earnestly considering coming back to this exact place in the future.

About the host
Hosted by Rafael Martinez
My wife and I love to travel. We know how important it is to stay in a comfortable, beautiful place that invites relaxation and enjoyment. That is why we have selected properties in the best locations in San Juan and prepared them so that you have a wonderful time in Puerto Rico, “La Isla Estrella”.
Why they chose this property
This was our house until 2017 when we decided to rent it to tourists visiting Puerto Rico. It is a premiere historic Spanish colonial home (over 250 years old) in the most prestigious address in Old San Juan, a Unesco World Heritage city.
Old San Juan has the air of a European city with majestic Spanish forts, a vibrant cultural life with music on the plazas, jazz piano bars, and venues for flamenco and salsa dancing, Visit the many museums, large art galleries, as well as artists’ cubbyholes. Enjoy gourmet Puerto Rican and world class international dining. There is an opportunity for a wonderful picture everywhere.
What makes this property unique
The house has been fully remodeled and has all the conveniences of modern living while maintaining the air of a Colonial home. It is very close to all major sights, shopping and other venues, yet it is on a quiet street.
