Our Favorite Rental

Rocks Retreat was our favorite rental!! We have visited the island several times and we will be back to stay here. It is nicely furnished, good wifi, well stocked and a great setup to the beach. Marsha the caretaker is so sweet and helpful. We LOVED this rental thank you!!!

Paradise!!

Had an absolutely amazing stay at this gem of a property! I thought it might be too good to be true when I booked the trip, but the property actually exceeded all of my expectations! The two cottages are beautiful and the location is both completely private, and yet easily accessible. I was sad to leave, and hope to go back someday to this little slice of paradise!

Great spot. House is private and the beach location is great for either in water or beach activities. Check in/out was smooth as well. Spent a week here with our three kids (between 6 and 11) and everyone loved it.

Had a wonderful vacation…the property is very well taken care of and definitely on one of the best beaches on the island for walking/swimming etc. Kind of a magical place at nite with the houses located back in the palm trees. And definitely a pink sand beach all to yourself. Thanxs for sharing your wonderful home.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Such a beautiful place - the pictures do not do it justice! We had an amazing stay with our family - plenty of room to spread out, very clean and well appointed, and so comfortable. The beach is amazing and quiet, and the water to the left of the rock formation is perfect for swimming. The owner has thought of everything needed for a great stay - plenty of fluffy towels, blankets, pillows, beach equipment, etc. We hope to come back again someday soon!

Oh Well

Last minute broken wrist caused us to have to stay home. Owners would not exchange or give us credit for a different date, which was a disappointment. Get the insurance if you want to book here, no exceptions.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I just returned from our 7th trip to Eleuthera. We enjoy trying different house rentals. Rocks Retreat ranks as one of our favorites. While it does not have full water view the path to the water is both easy and enjoyable. We have not experienced privacy like this home offers. There was not a single item we needed ( except food items) during our 10 day stay that was not available in the home. Decor is welcoming bed in master comfortable linens better than most all the beach needs. Best is the absolute privacy. Caregiver answered all emails quickly house was very clean.

Absolutely Perfect 7 Weeks in Eleuthera

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We sold our businesses a few years ago and bought an RV to travel around North America. Before we picked it up we were surprised to find out we were expecting an addition to the family so we headed out in the van to get in what we could before we welcomed our son into the world. During that time Covid became a thing in our world so we locked ourselves in for a couple of years. During that time we decided we would book a vacation for a couple of months in January 2022 truly thinking the pandemic would be over. As time grew closer our parents all had some health issues including one with covid and covid was not letting up. We were back and forth on whether to go or not but in the end we went for it. We could not have made a better decision. Kristin booked us the absolute perfect place for our family and friends to enjoy. The property was insanely private with us all enjoying outdoor showers daily and basically the most beautiful private beach you could dream of. We did some fishing and went and saw sea turtles a couple of times but otherwise we were fully content to be at Rocks Retreat. Marsha who handles the property is an incredible lady and our son absolutely adored her. Thank you to all of you for making this experience absolutely amazing.

Property Needs So Much Work and Updating

This was our first stay at Rocks Retreat and second on Eleuthera. We don’t intend to tell you about our vacation as that’s useless and of no interest to you. We will tell you about our stay at this property to give you information to best select a property for your vacation. We manage several vacation rental properties in the metro NYC area so we have some idea what is important to give renters a seamless experience. Rocks Retreat as you know is two buildings, a main house and a cottage. The cottage is an extra rental charge should you need the space. The main house is two floors with an un-air conditioned main floor - an open plan with comfortable sitting area, dining table and well supplied (non-food items) kitchen. In the corner is the one small bath with shower - there is no second bath. The second floor, up a steep stairway, is a one-room bunk house/sleeping loft attic with two queen beds and two single beds and has a split air conditioner unit. The positive impressions included the house delivered very neat and clean. The grounds, with no view of the ocean from the main level, were attractive and well maintained. Down a 100 yard path is a stunning Atlantic beach that was deserted every time we used it. A washer/dryer is available for the renters use at no additional charge. All linens were provided and the beds were comfortable. Beach chairs and chaise lounges were available. The detractors included all corroded or non-working windows that required sticks to hold them open. Windows either had no shades or broken shades that injured a guest, cracked/broken or no light bulb lamps, several non-working outlets, no bath in sleeping area, and a terrible condition rusted and duct-taped refrigerator. The only “starter” goods provided on our day of arrival were a gallon of water. We had to make an immediate visit to a market. No air conditioner for main level made for uncomfortable stay. Premium accommodations (king bed, efficient air conditioning, large bathroom with tub) were strangely only available in extra rent charge cottage. Learned that owners hadn’t updated property in about 20 years.

Amazing stay!

Best beach in Eleuthera! The house was the perfect size and space. The beach was incredible, even heard from others who visit the island that the Rocks Retreat beach is their favorite. The seclusion of the property was also breath taking. We did loose power for 2 hours which was expected but would be nice if this house had a generator but nothing that took away from the house because it was so short. Better house to stay at with older kids or no kids just because the walk to the beach could get old with little ones needing to go back and forth for a snack or nap. Will definitely stay at this house again!

We had 3 teens who stayed in the main house & my husband & I stayed in the apartment. it was the perfect set up- dinners & movies together in the main house & we all had our own spaces to sleep. the location and beach were stunning. I think the location is perfect. It’s close to Governors for restaurants and grocery shopping, and between Tippy’s and La Bougainville so convenient for dinners out or a beachside lunch. It’s easy to fly into GHB airport. The house is incredibly private because the acreage and sits directly on the most beautiful beach. It feels close to nature. There is a Venus pond right in front of the house that’s created by the rocks and tide. The home has peekaboo views of the ocean and you can hear the waves. Because it doesn’t sit directly ocean front it’s more protected from the wind and other elements we found this really relaxing. The floorplan and layout is a little unusual, but not uncommon for Bahamas cottages. The description is accurate. There is a house with kitchen, dining, living room and bunk room on the second floor. It feels more like a cabin. The master is a separate structure and was incredibly comfortable. The layout is a king bed with small sitting room. The bed is awesome and very comfortable. Going between the main house and primary suite is a little strange, but not a big deal. We loved this house and can’t wait to book again. Don’t think twice stay here!

The property is well stocked and has everything you could need. The only downside was that there were a lot of wasps, and also mosquitoes inside the big house, so I would recommend better fumigation / pest control. There were also some blinds missing in the upstairs room and some maintenance is needed. Overall, we liked it and had a good time.

It is in a great location close to town, and the beach is one of the most beautiful we’ve had on the island. The house has modern updated furniture with comfortable beds. It’s very clean, air conditioning works well and had everything needed for cooking our own meals. Lots of space for lounging around and we loved the beach chairs, umbrella and floaters! The walk to the beach through a beautiful private path was short and really nice.Marsha the home manager was always quick to respond to our questions and came right away on the one occasion that something didn’t work. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice clean house in a private location

Reviewer Comments: This property has two buildings - the main house (kitchen facilities & 3 beds upstairs) and the master suite cottage (single large bed - very comfortable - we slept here). It's a short walk to the beach from the house along a private path. The property fronts onto the beach near some large rocks that form a natural barrier. You can go down to the beach on either side so it's like having access to 2 beaches - since we were looking for seclusion we chose the side with fewer or no people. Everything in the house was functional that we tried (oven, fridge), although the AC remote controls were a little hard to figure out. Overall, a very nice place - we would definitely go back.

Pretty Close to Paradise

Reviewer Comments: This is the second time we stayed at Rocks Retreat on Eleuthera, obviously the first time was a good experience so we stayed again about 4 years later. The location is central to the island, located in Governor's Harbour with easy access to groceries and places to eat or get takeout from. The house is super well appointed with just about everything you could need and its location pretty much has its own essentially private beach on the Atlantic side of the island. beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the water, crystal clear water, and memories for the making.

Great family vacation

A quick stroll to the beach everyday, but having all that property to explore and birwatch was fantastic. Location is perfect, right in north Palmetto Point but feeling like you are out in the bush! The houses were well stocked with everything that we needed. All the appliances were in great shape, the beds were comfortable, and the furniture was in great shape. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay, and look forward to coming back.

Very private beach getaway

Loved this property. Was just as advertised. Beach was beautiful, house was great, loved the dual Sonos systems that we could connect to play music from. Well stocked with everything we needed for basics plus some bonus items. GREAT Wi-Fi, which was an important part of why we stayed with them. If you want a great place that's quiet, right on a beautiful beach, but still has great privacy, this is the place to rent!

Solid Eleuthera vacation home

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 8th time on Eleuthera, and third separate rental. This house is nice and offers everything one would need to enjoy Eleuthera. The house is set back from the beach by about 100-150 yards, so don't expect to easily see the beach from the front porch. However, the beach and its unique "cove" geology are certainly awesome and worth the slight inconvenience of line of sight from the house. I do wish there was a welcome basket with some basic essentials like I've experienced in other houses. Only other slight was no TV (for watching football), but knew that going in. Overall, property was in good shape and had everything one would want to enjoy. The rental next door (on the rocks) had two families with lord of the flies-type kids that overran the beach (and rocks retreat private property) at times, but that is certainly not fault of owners. Marsha (manager) was responsive. Will likely be back ...
