I have been a resident of Alaska since 1984. I enjoy fishing and the outdoors I work remotely on pipeline projects and recently had to move my youngest son out of Alaska for health reasons. Because I work remotely, we were able to make our home available to travelers with the help of our son Blaine and his wife Marissah.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I wanted to raise our family on this property. We chose it because it is close to Palmer where they attended school, and not far from the beautiful mountains of Hatcher's Pass. The home site itself is on a hill and is located such that we have nearly complete seclusion - yet have fiber-optic internet. We love the property with the beautiful big back yard. Years ago I planted apple trees, nanking cherry bushes, black currants and other berries on the sloping hill.

What makes this property unique

We and our six children have loved and lived on this property and love it so much we all visit often. Our son Blaine helps us manage it when we are away. We worked hard to create an upstairs and downstairs unit so we could make our cherished home available to travelers. Please be kind to our home and property and recognize it was originally a single family home - you can hear footsteps above if you are in the unit below. We have provided 'white noise' devices in the downstairs unit if you are a sensitive sleeper.
