About this property
North AVL Hideout - Close to Downtown and Parkway
Welcome to Asheville! This house has a vibe that instantly puts you at ease when you walk through the door. The hideout is nestled off Beaverdam road in north Asheville. Just a few miles from downtown yet surrounded by nature. During your stay you may get a visit from local wildlife, including black bears and wild turkeys!
A perfect home base for city exploration and mountain adventures. One level home accessible year round in any vehicle!
The home was originally built in the 1960's and has been completely renovated with modern details. The front of the house is walled with floor to ceiling windows that let in amazing light and a nice view of the mountains. The living area and kitchen are all open and provide a great place to gather with a cozy double sided gas fireplace, inviting couch, dining table, and bar. The concrete floors in the living area are heated, along with both the bathroom floors. The home also has some unique features like Ipe exterior siding and flooring in the dining room along with concrete and ambrosia maple counters. The house has a large deck with outdoor furniture, a solo stove fire pit, and weber grill.
The living area has a smart Roku TV, you may sign in and use any of your streaming accounts during your stay. We do not provide cable or any house streaming accounts.
If you want to stay in and cook a meal the kitchen is nicely stocked with most essential tools including pots/pans, flatware, grilling utensils, measuring cups, etc. We do not provide any food stuffs except salt and pepper.
The house has an en suite master with a king bed, a second larger bedroom with a king bed, and a third smaller room with a queen bed.
Guest access
The house is easily accessible in any car, the neighborhood and driveway are not steep! The house is on a quiet street with a private driveway. The home is also easy to access with only one step into the house and all living on one level.
Other things to note
For those interested in working remote or needing connectivity the home has high speed cable internet service and good WiFi throughout the house. The large bar makes a great spot to park your laptop. 4G/5G network is not strong at the home but voice calls work well.
If you are bringing little ones we have a pack n play (with sheets), baby gates, kids dinnerware, and a baby/toddler carrier hiking backpack! We have three young kids so if you need anything in advance let us know!
Winter is a beautiful time to visit Asheville. Less crowds, beautiful hikes with views, crisp air and Christmas at Biltmore to mention only a few things! We receive many questions about winter access to the cabin. We rarely get significant snow in Asheville, once or twice a year we may get snow that sticks to the road and causes travel issues... even then the roads are usually clear midday. The roads to the house and the driveway are not steep and should not present any additional travel issues.
A note on check-out and cleaning fees:
We have an awesome cleaning team - it's a local woman owned small business with local staff that are paid living wage or better. 100% of the cleaning fee (and then some) goes to them. An average of 4 hours is spent cleaning to house to prepare for our next guests. We hope you find the place to exceed expectations. With checkout we do ask that you help by stripping beds, starting a load of laundry, and the dishwasher. It should only take a few minutes and saves our team hours, keeping our fees lower!
If you stay with us on a Thursday night, we also ask that you roll trash bins to the road on Friday morning, however if you can't we are willing to do so, just let us know!
