We had a great stay at this lovely cottage. Our family of four spent two nights here as part of a larger trip, and found the accommodations clean, comfortable, and charming. The property was equipped with everything we needed, and more. We loved relaxing in the beautiful outdoor spaces and made s’mores in the outdoor fireplace. The location made it easy to get to nearby caves/attractions, and the host was very attentive to questions and offered recommendations. Perfect place for a small family or romantic getaway.
Someone really went the extra mile when decorating this house. It feels magical, especially outside with the pond, waterfall, fireplace and deck. The host got back to us almost instantly whenever we had a question. My only small complaint was the beds upstairs could be better. Would definitely stay here again. It was also 15 min from Mammoth Caves so that was super convenient.
We really enjoyed this property. The house was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was equipped. The best part was the porch. Magical. You could turn on the fountain and listen to its soothing sounds, or you could turn off the fountain and listen to the birds during the day and the frogs at night. The air-conditioning worked very well. We did not interact with the host very much because we had everything we needed! It was great for our dog, Frank. So many great smells. We would come again as well as recommend this place to our friends.
Lovely rural setting near the interstate with a outdoor water garden and back covered deck. The house was clean and comfortable with adequately stock kitchen, though the bedroom & bathroom were small. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
The place is full of whimsy. Know that the controls to the fairy lights are above the table, and there is a black remote to turn on the light strands. It was well-light and welcoming when we arrived, which was a nice touch. Wonderful stay, we will be back!
What a wonderful cottage ! The inside is beautiful and relaxing but I can say we spent our time outside in the beautiful porch having dinners and enjoying a fire . We utilized the grill and the outdoor space our entire stay ! The caretaker was kind and communication easy . Also a great location !
Adorable little house in an extremely convenient location. Feels like you're out in the woods while being just a 2 minute drive to the highway. We particularly enjoyed the large back porch, the outdoor fireplace, and the pond. The entire house and property is absolutely charming.
We enjoyed our short stay at this cozy cabin. Part of the experience was discovering the interesting decor elements throughout the home. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in the living room on the cool evenings. The kitchen was stocked with necessary supplies and coffee/tea. There was no food or spices left by previous visitors, adding to the exceptional cleanliness of the home.
I have rented many vacation homes over the past 8 or 9 years. This was one of my favorite properties yet. It was just as described - and more. The kids loved the waterfall, small pond, outdoor room, and all of the thoughtful details throughout the cabin. The location was great, and we had plenty of privacy. It was like stepping away from the "real world" for 2 days - and into a fairytale.
My husband and I stayed a couple nights at this cozy rustic cottage. We enjoyed our stay very much. The air conditioning was superb. The cottage had a cabin feel outside and a home feel with all amenities inside. The ambiance and decorations were delightful. Full kitchen and able to cook meals for breakfast and dinner. Approximately 20 minute drive away from Mammoth Cave National Park. Host was available onsite but we had privacy.
Very unique cabin, a lot of beautiful cornice work throughout. The bedrooms are small, the twins upstairs have to navigate down steep steps to use bathroom. Supplies provided were adequate. Luggage racket would be helpful. Outside area is a selling point, needs some tlc.
We loved how the cottage was decorated, so unique and beautiful. The outdoor space was fantastic. The A/c cooled the house very well. A couple small complaints we had was the queen size bed could use replacing. We woke up very sore and stiff every morning. Also the entire house shakes when the air turns on and then continues to vibrate the house the entire time its running. This makes sitting on the living room couch and laying in bed at night feel really strange. We never experienced a house that did that before. I guess its the quirks of an older home.
We loved the cabin. It was clean, comfortable, and close enough to Mammoth to drive each day. We had plenty space for the 4 of us and the poodle. The outdoor space was absolutely magical. We ate on the porch with all the fairy lights on and enjoyed the swings. My boys were over the moon with the frog pond. They probably would have been happy to sit out there for the duration of our stay. It rained almost everyday we were there but we managed to enjoy the outdoor fireplace during 2 of our evenings. The kitchen worked just fine and had everything we needed. The dogs greatly appreciated the outdoor space, however the little cherub(?) statue caught them off guard on our last night there and sent them into a tailspin. All in all would stay again/recommend to any friends that want to visit the National Park. **We also found that you are within a 40 drive to Lincoln's birthplace. We took the trip and the boys were able to collect an extra junior ranger badge.
Beautiful and creative home and property. It was clean, well stocked with basic essentials, and the host, John, was easy to reach and attentive. We loved the beauty of birdsong and bullfrogs every day. Thank you for offering this amazing home!
