About the host
Hosted by Suzette Hine
Hi, I’m Suzette — the owner of Haven in the Hills!
This home is more than just a vacation rental to me; it’s a piece of my heart tucked into the Texas Hill Country. I’ve always loved the peaceful views, the winding trails, and that unmistakable sense of calm you feel the moment you arrive here.
My goal in opening up Haven in the Hills was simple: to share the beauty, quiet, and charm of this area with others. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the deck, hiking through the trees, or stargazing by the fire pit, I hope you feel the same peace and joy I’ve found out here.
Thanks for following along — and I’d be honored to host your stay in the hills!

Why they chose this property
One of the things I treasure most about Haven in the Hills is the peaceful, untouched beauty of the neighborhood and surrounding area. Tucked away in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, the property is nestled among rolling hills, tall oaks, and winding backroads that instantly make you feel like you’ve escaped the noise of everyday life.
The scene here is incredibly serene—mornings are quiet except for the sounds of birds, and evenings often end with golden-hour sunsets over the trees. On a clear night, the stars are absolutely incredible. It’s the kind of place where you can sit on the deck with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and feel completely at ease.
What I love most about the neighborhood is the space—literal wide-open space. You don’t see neighbors, you don’t hear traffic. Instead, you get walking trails, wildlife sightings, and the kind of stillness that’s hard to find these days. The house sits on 24 acres, and the land invites guests to explore, hike, bike, or just take a walk and clear their head. Whether it’s families playing in the yard, couples enjoying a quiet morning, or friends gathered around the fire pit, it always feels like your own personal piece of the Hill Country.
At the same time, you’re not far from the fun. I love that we’re just a short drive to places like Canyon Lake, Gruene, New Braunfels, Wimberley, and some amazing local wineries. You can spend the day out tubing a river, listening to live music at Gruene Hall, or visiting a brewery—and still come back home to complete peace and privacy.
This neighborhood gives you the best of both worlds: total seclusion and easy access to everything that makes Hill Country living so special. That’s what makes it my favorite place to be—and why I’m so excited to share it with others.
