Staying at Kalyn and Tim’s property was perfect for our quick weekend lake getaway and that it was! We enjoyed the lawn on the side of the house, grilling on the deck, and we even utilized the pool table and the foosball table located right as you walk inside! The property also had walk-up lake access and dock access which was perfect for our niece to get out in the water and on her paddle board. The property was homey and spacious and has something for everyone to do and we were able to bring our pup! Communication between us and the host was quick, kind, and reliable. Check-in was easy and went smoothly! Again, thank you so much Kalyn and Tim!

Great Cabin for Ice Fishing Trip

We had another great stay at this Lake Poinsett cabin for our annual ice fishing trip! We had a small issue with the furnace, but the owners were very responsive and had it fixed within a couple hours. Great place to stay with plenty of room for a large group. Will hopefully be staying here again next year!

Fall Family Get Away

We had an amazing time at this location. While it could have been cleaner when we arrived it is what it is. We had a great time and enjoyed the break from everything. The house had almost everything we could have asked for and was big enough to accommodate our big group. The kids even enjoyed all the animals on the wall and games.

Elma Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate your honesty and will follow up with the cleaning procedures. I am glad it worked out for your group!

Host profile image
We built this lake home in 2 stages, the initial cabin in 2000 and the great room and screened in porch area in 2008. Our family utilizes the lake home in the summer and opens it up to hunters and wildlife conservationists during the fall.

Why they chose this property

We are an avid hunting and fishing family. Since we reside on 320 acres of hunting heaven and own an additional 160 acres of wildlife area, we welcome hunters to stay in our area, either hunting or enjoying the wildlife in this area of South Dakota. Guides are available for pheasant hunting adventures during the regular season. www.sodakoutfitters.com

What makes this property unique

Lots of room with the necessities and more!
Hunting camp with hot tub, game cleaning station, screened in porch for tired dogs, view of the sun setting over Lake Poinsett, near public and private hunting for pheasants
