About this property

Cozy Winter Retreat | Fireplace • Firepit • Games

Escape to Shea Farmhouse, a charming 1800s farmhouse blending historic warmth with modern comfort — your perfect cozy winter staycation, fun girls' trip, or romantic couple getaway in the heart of Hocking Hills magic. Wrapped in quiet countryside peace, this pet-friendly 1100 sq ft retreat sleeps 7 and invites you to hibernate in style.

Gather in the warm, inviting living room where the crackling fire creates a glowing haven. Plush seating, board games galore, and the Roku Smart TV make it ideal for movies, hot cocoa nights (BYO), or endless laughter as (hopefully) snow swirls outside.

Rest easy across three cozy queen bedrooms (downstairs primary for privacy, plus two upstairs with dressers/closets) and a full pull-out couch in the living room for extra guests or kids. The bathroom offers a relaxing tub/shower combo with fresh towels and plenty of hot water — perfect for thawing out after winter adventures.

Girls' trip vibes: Bond over board games, cookie-baking in the fully stocked kitchen, or yard fun with your pup — then gather around the private firepit with Adirondack chairs for marshmallow roasting under starry skies.

For couples: Light the fire, dim the lights, and let the historic charm set the scene for intimate evenings full of warmth and connection.

Step onto the wide front porch for crisp morning coffee (even in the snow!), or explore the backyard cave, nearby Moonville Tunnel for spooky winter walks, and quick drives to waterfalls in Hocking Hills State Park, or hikes at Lake Hope State Park. Plenty of parking for trailers, outdoor grill for BBQs, big yard for pets, and a big farmhouse table for meals or puzzles.

Message us before booking for a seasonal 10% discount! Whether you're chasing frozen caves and trails by day, firepit evenings by night, or simply doing nothing at all — Shea Farmhouse is your historic, heartfelt winter hug.

Pack the flannels, grab your people (and pets!), and come hide away. The firepit is ready, the farmhouse is waiting, and winter here feels like a fairytale! ❄️🔥🏡

A place to relax and reset

Our time in Vinton County was nothing short of fabulous. The Shea Farmhouse was lovely. Perfect size, ample amount of room for myself and 2 teenagers. The kitchen was well equipped for vacation. While we are very used to old homes, some may need to know before you go in order to have a happy stay like we did.Pros: *The property was so lovely, loads of green space for baggo/corn toss, running around, walking, bird watching, enjoying the light show of fireflies, nightly orchestral music provided by crickets, bullfrogs and whip-poor-wills. *The fire pit was right next to the house with great size and chairs - so nice*Bedding was so incredibly soft, clean and just the right warmth without weight. Also the throw blankets were so soft. Ample and very clean.*The house is “close” to many things we wanted to do (close in Hocking Hills is a 20-30 min drive average). Suggestions for house:Kitchen: * a cookie sheet for reheating leftovers*Ice maker or ice cube trays in the fridge - although the countertop icemaker made the best slushy ice cubes the output was quite small for the size of house. *More than one coffee cup would be nice.*Be Vigilant on your cleanliness. The outside will come in if you leave out any food. We put EVERYTHING in the fridge. You’d be shocked how quickly they sense food of any type. We even put our garbage in the freezer.Bath: A window covering that is a little more private, so that those at the fire pit do not have a view.
