About this property

Heavenly Escape into the Forest- Tiny Home at Allen Acres Resort

Located less than 1 hr East of Dallas and 10 mins North of Canton~Welcome to the Lucky Buck Cabin-Unique lodging in a beautiful, East Texas forest! Truly a heavenly getaway from our fast paced life…. Rich in history on the Old Dallas-Shreveport Rd, the relaxed vibe will take you away from the hustle & bustle! Come glamp in style, sip on a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in a rocking chair on the wrap around patio, listen to the water cascade on the pond and enjoy farm fresh eggs daily. Have I mentioned shopping at 1st Monday Trade Days??The stars at night are BIG and bright deep in the heart of East Texas!

The space~”WOW” is how the guests describe the place! “It’s more beautiful and serene in person!” The property has a gated entrance and is fully fenced. There are 2 cabins that share a beautiful wrap around porch which overlooks the property. Each cabin can sleep 4 ( 1 queen downstairs and 2 long twins in each loft). The loft overlooks the living room and is approx 5’ tall. Both cabins can be rented together for a larger party. Each have kitchens and full bath with walk in shower. Tall, vaulted ceilings. Faux electric fireplace. DIRECTV & Roku as well as internet. The Lucky Buck is approx 600 sq ft.

Exterior~There is a stone, seating area in the woods that is lite up with strung lights. In the center is a fire pit with wood.
Depending on the time of year, there are outdoor games (Giant Jenga & Corn Hole Toss) and hammocks.

Guest access~There are two cabins that are connected by a huge wraparound porch. That area is a communal area. Each cabin has its separate entrance. There is also a fire pit located up in the trees with lights that come on each evening, relaxing chairs, and sometimes we put out the hammock. That is also a communal area.

Other things to note~While we are a completely fenced property, some of the farm animals (guineas, chickens) might fly over the fence but will go back. They are so much fun to watch! We do supply earplugs and sound machines in each room if you do not want to hear the sounds of nature.

About the host

Hosted by Teresa Allen

Host profile image
We are both born & raised Texans. Moved to Edgewood from the Frisco area for a slower paced life. Once we uncovered the forest, we knew we had to share the beauty of the property.

We absolutely enjoy hosting guests from around the world! Sharing our Texas hospitality and creating a unique experience is exhilarating!

Why they chose this property

We found out that the historical presence of the property was where the old Dallas-Shreveport Rd was located. It was traveled on by horse & buggy before highways were constructed. Tawakoni & Caddo Indians inhabited the land. Lots of history here!

Once we uncovered the dense forest, we knew we had to share the beauty! Come listen to the water cascade on the pond. Swing on a classic tree swing hanging from a grand tree. Unwind in an Adirondack chair under the stars by the fire pit while grilling. No steet noise, no crowds-just serenity & silenece-this is the perfect place to relax & recharge!

What makes this property unique

The Vibe & Energy is AMAZING!! Lots of R&R, birds chirping, sounds of the water feature on the pond, large, beautiful trees & rolling hills all surrounded by nature. A sanctuary from “every day life!”
