The Overlook at Lake Lure is a great place to stay! It's very safe and private. The view from the deck is magical. The cabin is very clean and accommodated 12 of us no problem. The game room is awesome! We were never bored with things to do. The hosts are very communicative and easy to talk to. They even helped us with a couple of special requests. Can't recommend the Overlook enough!

Beautiful cabin with an awesome view!!! Very peaceful and relaxing and loved the wrap around porch to enjoy drinks while taking in the view. Plenty of space in the cabin to accommodate our family and the downstairs game room kept us all entertained! Also liked that the cabin was close to areas including Chimney Rock and Asheville for outtings. Also felt safe due to cabin being in a gated community.

This cabin had everything we needed and more!!! The kitchen had plenty, we did not miss anything. The big hit was the view and the game room. We took our grown children and their family to help celebrate our 43rd Wedding Anniversary. Our family really enjoyed our stay. There was plenty to keep you busy. We enjoyed being together and sharing this time together. Both of our children said that they would love to visit this cabin again very soon. The furniture and beds were so comfortable and we appreciate this. Plus it had all the finest furnishings. It was hard to leave such a Wonderful place. Thank you Matt and Katie for being an Amazing host and sharing your home with us!!!

This is a beautiful, private home in the mountains. The views were breathtaking and it was very secluded and quiet. Our family found the home to be very spacious and loved the theater room, pool table, ping pong, foosball, and arcade games downstairs. There is also a fun kids loft on the third level with family games. The beds were comfortable and overall we had a great stay and made lots of family memories. The check-out procedures are a bit more tedious compared to other rental homes we've stayed at (you must strip all used bed linens, drive trash to a nearby facility, and start a load of laundry). I would have preferred some extra blankets in the home, as it got chilly during our stay and family members have different comfort levels in terms of setting the thermostat, so blankets would have helped keep the cold-natured ones warmer. Also the door on the master bedroom doesn't latch or lock, so it would be nice if that gets repaired for future guests' privacy. The neighborhood felt very safe (gated community) and the owners were nice and helpful with their detailed communications. It's a lovely home and provided us with gorgeous fall scenery that we were hoping for.

This was the first time our family experienced our annual mountain vacation in NC and it was great. We look forward to returning next year, if not sooner. The cabin was great and clean and the view was beautiful. The cabin had many amenities that fit our family vacation lifestyle of RELAXATION.The Game room and Loft had games, and TVs to keep us occupied for hours. Outdoor activities did not suit us due to our health issues, so this cabin made staying inside a joy. The mountain view was outstanding and we enjoyed thanking God for the opportunity to see it every morning. The Hosts were amazing. They stayed in contact with us from booking until after we returned home. They answered any questions we had at any time. Please give the cabin "The Overlook" a visit. I am sure you will not be disappointed. Thanks Matt & Katie for sharing your beautiful home with us.

As at all VRBO's, the welcome letter states that this is a private home. If this were my log home, it would of had a lot of work accomplished before my guest arrived. The kitchen cabinets are in need of replacement, doors hanging down and wood very dried out. Hot water was warm at best. Screens for exterior entries were old and some torn. Exterior logs on the south and west sides need to be stained. Deck is in need of replacement and some of the cables for the railings are very loose and or disconnected. The interior logs need to be dusted and windows really need to be cleaned. The glass coffee table is nice, but I could see a small child getting hurt very easily on the corners of this table. It was a comfortable quiet cabin to stay in, but definitely needs some TLC.
