Quaint seclusion, steps from the backwaters of the Mississippi.
This quaint cabin rests on the backwaters of the Mississippi, minutes from beautiful downtown Red Wing, Mn and 45 min from the Twin Cities.
Enjoy the serenity of an early morning sunrise on the deck, walk along the water or a nighttime bonfire. This place is a perfect get away for folks who love the outdoors or that just need a beautiful destination to relax.
This cabin features a queen bed and a futon in the living room that folds into a double bed. You can enjoy steaks on the grill or have the convenience of pizza delivery. Walk down to the riverside fire pit and enjoy s'mores around the fire.
Fishing enthusiasts, bring a pole or even land your boat on the beach. The back channel boat landing is mere 2 miles away. Splash the boat and pull right up to shore. The backwaters are also a great place to paddle kayaks or a canoe.
Note: Our cabin is located on Mississippi River floodplain. If you are booking April/May or Oct/Nov there is a small chance that your stay may be affected by river level. We monitor river levels and will provide you with that information ASAP. The cabin is not affected by flash floods, only by slow rising of the Mississippi River.

We love staying at the Backyard Bungalow. So cozy and a perfect way to ring in the new year. My wife and I always have the best time. We’ll definitely be returning!
Cabin small, but mighty! Nicely appointed. Perfect for a couple. Deck chairs and grill for our Big Dawg brats, were a bonus! Tree swings by water were perfect for morning coffee. Birds, boats, turtles, deer, bunnies, hummingbirds....Oh My!Property well kept. We enjoyed our time and the close proximy to biking trails, restaurants, museums and pottery shop. Annie was very responsive to all our inquiries. Would stay again if in the area! C&A
This cabin had everything we were looking for in a getaway, great view, spotless well stocked place, quiet and off by itself, a wonderful fire pit a very responsive host and a comfortable bed. We definitely would go back.
This was our 3rd stay at the bungalow and it won't be our last. It is a perfect little retreat, giving us the privacy we want while still being close enough to Red Wing to enjoy the activities that it offers.
The location is perfect for a quiet weekend on the river. Some of the property was flooded due to recent heavy rain but the hosts kept me updated and did the best they could considering the conditions. Highly recommend.
We had a blast during our weekend stay. Nice cabin with a great view of the Mississippi River. Great for sitting along the shore on one of the swinging benches, staying inside playing board games, or taking a short drive into Red Wing to take in the sites or have a great meal. The hosts were great and would recommend this to anyone.
We booked last second and received great communication from the host! We enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend at this beautiful and quiet cabin along the River!
Came for a weekend get away with my husband and had a great time. The small cabin has just what you need. We made use of the snow shoes available and the board games and had fun exploring Red Wing a bit.
We had a great time, the place was beautiful and we enjoyed sharing our morning coffee with the ducks. Looking forward to coming back in warmer weather as well.
A quiet, comfortable, peaceful stay! The bed was very comfortable! So serene! Just perfect!
