About this property

Sea Escape at Spruce Overlook

Perched up on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this quiet home in Shelter Cove is a place to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of California`s storied Lost Coast. Enjoy a deck that wraps around the house, providing you with gorgeous views of the water and incredible nightly sunsets. This home is perfect for a family with kids or for a couple that want to get away and have a quiet relaxing weekend.

This home sits in the heart of Shelter Cove, a tiny community on the remote and wild Lost Coast of Humboldt County. As the southern terminus of the Lost Coast Trail, Shelter Cove is a wonderful retreat for backpackers before or after their journey through the King Range National Conservation Area. You`ll be only half a mile from the Cove beach where you can play in the sand and splash in the waves. The house is just three-quarters of a mile from the Cape Mendocino Lighthouse at Shelter Cove. There is a staircase from the lighthouse that leads you to a great beach to look tide pools and watch the seals. The home is just a mile and a half from Black Sands Beach. Black Sands Beach is the southern end of the Lost Coast trail as well as an amazing place to watch the sunsets.

Begin each morning with coffee outside on the deck, breathing in the salty sea air and watching for passing whale spouts on the horizon. Inside, you`ll find everything you need to prepare breakfast in the kitchen, including full-sized appliances and a breakfast bar.

After a day of adventures, return to your home away from home and relax in the hammock with your favorite beach read. Gather around the telescope and see if you can spot any whales or constellations as the sun sets.

The home is not only furnished but equipped with every essential, including a washer and dryer for your swimsuits and hiking clothes, and a large smart TV to screen your favorite movies. The downstairs is equipped with a foosball table, darts, a mini pool table and lots of kid activities to keep everyone in your house happy. There is a piano for the music enthusiast as well as several kid instruments. The two-level layout allows for ample space for everyone in your party to have a fun-filled relaxing get away.

Our property manager lives close-by and is available to ensure you have an unforgettable trip here on the Lost Coast. Feel free to call her if you have any questions.
