It was very cute and had great access to Pelican Lake. We brought a couple of extra fans for the bedrooms, but the AC especially in the living area was great. The street was nice and quiet and perfect for taking walks. We loved the outdoor space with having plenty of options for grilling out and a couple different spots for a campfire. We really enjoyed our stay.

Property was clean and easy to access. Direct access to the lake via the deck. Quick access to the state highway and to the smaller communities around the pelican Lake area. Overall, we had a great experience! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Perfect weekend family getaway! Wonderful cabin right on the beautiful Pelican lake!

We were able to enjoy fishing off the dock, getting out on the pontoon they had available for rent, campfires, relaxing in the cabin, and enjoying some of the great restaurants in the area. Hosts were very gracious and kind, great communication about rental. Everything we expected and more for our family vacation. We look forward to making this a family tradition every year!

Clean but small

The check in process was easy and the host was very responsive to our questions. The cottage was nice and clean and had everything we needed. The downside was the small size of the cabin and lack of privacy with having 2 other cabins on site.

It is unfortunate that this traveler rated our property a 3 star based on size of cabin. We feel our property is listed accurately and size of accomodations are fairly represented in our listing. If traveler was looking for a completely private experience we were clearly not that type of property.

NICE TIME

Property was great, had everything you need and then some. Nice folks. Something needs to be done about the fish situation, pretty sad for such a beautiful place. Was very nice, during a full moon evening over the water. Thank you Greg and family.

Beautiful lake

Small cabin with 2 other houses very close. Not much privacy. Could have used a better cleaning before we arrived. Lake is beautiful. We rented a small fishing boat that could have used a newer motor it was a bit hard to start and ran a bit rough. I heard they were updating. Hope all goes well. a.small boat

Our small 2 cottage resort like many others on our lake is in a residential setting and is not like some rentals that are someones private home in the middle of the woods and it is priced accordingly. We have eldetly neighbors on both sides that don’t bother anyone. As far as cleanliness goes, we strive to have very clean rentals, but the guest never said a word to us during their stay. Had they, we would have rectified immediately. Regarding boats rentals - these are separate from VRBO and offered as a convenience to our guests should they need a boat. We do not have enough rental volume to provide newer boats so again they are priced accordingly to their age and condition. Guests always have the option of renting boats from one of the marinas in the area but they are much pricier.

Came for the fishing

Fishing did not disappoint. Caught Muskie, Northern Pike, Walleye and Bass. Heavy humidity created moisture on the bedroom floors. Cabin description and amenities list is not accurate. We packed blankets, pillows and bedding for four people. All that was provided which was great. Wish we would have known ahead of time. Coffee maker was a Kuerig - wasn't prepared for that.

family getaway..

The house was small but good for the three of use. The bathroom could have been a few feet bigger. The property was clean and the location was nice. Very easy to get to town. ATV trails was a lot of road riding but there is a few little more challenging trails through the woods which were good. The people around the area where super nice and helpful. The lake is a little shallow and the fishing was not very good. We rented a boat from the property. owner it was a good price but they where a little beat up and need so work. The Jennings Bar 5 miles away was a great place to stop and also see the museum. A good area to stay at for a short getaway

We certainly wish we had larger cottages to offer, but since our property is grandfathered in as a resort current building codes in our are prevent us from expanding them. Regarding the fishing we have had other guests that have had good success fishing the lake so this may be related to skill level. And regarding the boat rentals, this is a separate business and is completely optional and independent of this lodging listing. True that the boats offered aren’t new but we know what the competing delivering marinas in the area charge for rentals on their newer boats and they are more than double the rates

Sabinois Point Resort.

Not really a Resort. More like two cabins in someone's backyard. The photo and description are deceiving. It is true you can see the lake from the cabin, but what you really are looking at is the back of the owner's house. And since they can look right in it brings up privacy issues and the blinds stay closed and there goes your Lakeview. One suggestion. The toilet is oversized but the seat is regular and doesn't fit properly.

I feel compelled to respond correspondingly to this unfair review. We are a two cabin resort not a private residence for rent. Any resort I have been to has other buildings you have to look at so I don't see how this would be an issue. Our cabins are not right on the lake because of setback rules that we have no control of. Our photos have an accurate representation of the view of the lake. Additionally, there is no one in the main residence that looks into anyone's cabin I can assure you that. Regarding the toilet comment, this was not our doing. This toilet was only 2 years old at the time and came from Home Depot with the correct seat. Obviously someone broke it and replaced it with a cheap round seat. This was corrected immediately when we found it in this condition. Interesting to note that this traveler never once brought any of these issues up during their stay as we have onsite management.

Great Stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The size and location was perfect for what we needed. My family has a place across the lake so this cabin was convenient for us to spend time with our family but also have our privacy. We spoke with the property manager in passing a few times and each time he was very friendly. We had a great trip!

Not impressed

The shower’s door needs a good clean. Looks like there was mold on it. One of the Fulton had some food on it. The mattress is uneven, flat on one side.
Stayed 2 nights in Aug 2021
Response from VrboOwner on 30 August 2021
I am not sure what this guest is talking about regarding mold on the shower door. I personally deep cleaned and inspected it 2 weeks before their arrival. We use mold preventative cleaner so I don’t see how there could have been mold unless it happened during their stay and if they didn’t run the dehumidifier in the hallway, because the temperatures this summer have been very hot and humid. Mattresses were both replaced with new memory foam ones last summer so not sure what the flat side reference is about. None of the other guests we have had in that cottage said a word about the mattresses or mold and we have rented it 13 times so far this year. Regarding food on the futon it is possible that something like that was missed during the cleaning process and will be addressed with the cleaning personnel. This guest had contacted me numerous times before their stay to get me to drop their damage deposit fee. I believe she is upset because I could not refund the damage insurance fee that they selected and VRBO offered as a property protection option. With 2 adults and 4 kids no way!

This is obviously an disgruntled traveler. We would never rent a property with feces on any wall. We do an indepth cleaning after every reservation and I believe this is the traveler that taped up our handheld shower head to the main shower head with electrical tape. Took me over an hour to repair that damage. Bad form to leave a review and never complain to onsite management.

Property was fine. Nice quaint cabins.

We had trouble with our boat which caused us to leave one day early. The lake is terrible for fishing. We caught no fish. All of the boats on property need work. Owner was hardly ever around when we needed her. I would not go back there as a repeat customer. Also VRBO has to many fees and if at all possible I won't be using VRBO again.
Stayed 5 nights in Jul 2018
Response from VrboOwner on 19 March 2020
It is unfortunate that this guest left a bad review after telling us the cottage was so nice. There was no problem with the boat when it was checked out after guest left and they used for 3 days then left early on their own accord because of “poor fishing”. Cannot control where they fished or their abilities. Solicited a refund for boat rental and the day they left early which was provided as a courtesy. Then they have the nerve to write a bad review? I don’t enjoy leaving bad counter-feedback but when they also complain about HomeAway fees- we contril control those, and they would have been given a breakdown of cost before they reserved. As far as owner not being present during the duration of the rental, how many are? Owner told these guests that there was an unanticipated family emergency They had our phone number and did not call once. Owner’s daughter lives nearby and was never once contacted about boat issues and was only told at last minute they were leaving because of poor fishing. It has been consistently in the 80’s for most of the summer and water temperature was in the mid 70’s causing fish to go deeper. Doesn’t take too much to figure out you need to adjust to deeper water fishing strategy. In our opinion this was an unfair review given the circumstances outlined above. I guess no matter what you do you just can’t please everyone all the time no matter how hard you try.
