We had a wonderful time here, the cabin was nice for my wife and I with our small dog. Very clean and we had a nice fire pit every night. The pontoon boat was nice and the lake was very big. Greg was extremely friendly and very accommodating for any needs we might have. We look forward to coming back in the near future.
A cozy, quaint, peaceful and comfortable northern Wisconsin cottage on a beautiful lake with all comforts of home. Greg& Meg (hosts) and Gail (onsite manager) were awesome , handled all our requests, it was like we were all family. Neighbors were very friendly and quiet. If you like fresh air, nightly fires in you own fire pit (wood provided), you will love this place. Overall experience was so good we extended our stay 2 days and will definitely come back next year.

Needs work
Cabin is very outdated with plumbing issues in kitchen and bath. No hand soap was supplied. No privacy. The hosts were very nice and attentive. The lake is beautiful. Fish cleaning station is a big plus along with the full size fridge/freezer.

We are unsure of what the traveler's expectations were with the cabin. Our pictures clearly depict what the cabin looks like and have made more decor updates that will be reflected in new pictures taken at the end of our season.
Regarding plumbing issues, when notified that there was a small drain pipe leak in the kitchen I offered to fix it even though we were in the middle of an unexpected family emergency but was told no it was ok by the travelers. New piping was subsequently installed.
Upon inspection of bathroom I see no evidence of any leaks. New flooring and toilet was installed this past spring so unsure what they were referring to.
Last, privacy issues mentioned yet nothing was expressed to us during their stay. Possibly related to the activity related to the family emergency? Without further clarification I cannot properly address the concerns. We take traveler privacy very serious, but can only do so much as we have two rentals on property.
Loved our stay. Beautifully crafted cabin with modern conveniences. Small and manageable. With such gorgeous weather spent most of our time outside. The lake is gorgeous. Could've slept on the dock minus the bugs. So very peaceful. Saw eagles and hummingbirds every day. Spent a day on the pontoon boat which was heaven. Isolated enough yet close enough to stores/restaurants for quick errands/meals. Just love the Northwoods! Greg and family are the best! They made our stay simply wonderful and had so much fun spending time with them, getting to know them, talking, etc...and they go out of their way to make sure everything is in tip top shape. Wouldn't hesitate to go again. Great and family...thanks for making our stay so very special! ☮️ Mary
We loved our stay. The only thing we rated under a 5 star was the representation via pictures. Every picture was accurate, it was the pictures not taken. The cottage was smaller than we expected, but still very nice & full of the latest updates. I could tell the owner went to every length to make this little cottage the best it could be. My wife would have preferred a little more privacy, so if had there been a few more pictures that showed how close your neighbors were, it could have painted a more accurate portrayal. That being said, we found all of the neighbors to be delightful, accommodating & friendly. The lake was GREAT! I loved being able to use the pontoon boat (very reasonably priced). We had so much fun & enjoyed our relaxing week while I recovered from my knee surgery. The owner was so helpful, friendly & easy to work with & I could tell he did his upmost to make sure our stay went as planned. Thanks Greg for a great experience & a special thank you for helping to be extra accommodating to our special request!! I can assure you that Greg will make sure your stay is excellent :-)
Our week at this cabin could have lasted a lifetime! We never wanted to leave. Pelican Lake has so many childhood memories for me and the week we spent there this summer brought back every one of these memories. The cabin was the perfect size for my family (two adults + 1 tween). There was a comforter and pillows provided, so only sheets and pillow cases were needed. TP, paper towel and garbage bags were also needed, which we forgot. The host is very nice and helpful. Be sure to get a lake map, as there is a lot of rocks and structure and you'll be sure to scrape your prop otherwise. The campfire and outdoor seating was perfect. The lake is sandy in front of the cabin and quite shallow for about 100-150yds off shore. The property is also located on a side street to a larger county road, and there is plenty of safe walking up and down the road the cabin is on. We biked around the entire lake (13.5 miles). I will definitely consider rebooking this again next year.

Not on a list of favorites.
There were multiple issues with cleanliness as well as a "pet" odor.
Not a place for children as there is really nothing for them to do. There are 3 other cabins in very close proximity ( they appear not to be rentals) and if your children are on the boisterous side I don't think the neighbors would appreciate it. (One neighbor commented that "the kids were quiet, which they appreciated.")
Swimming off the pier is definitely not an option unless your children are teens.
The manger of the property was receptive to all concerns and is actively correcting all problems.
Communication was excellent.
Once improvements are made it will be a nice property for a quiet escape if that is what you are looking for.
The location and accommodations were great for a relaxed long weekend in the north woods.

It is difficult to understand why we were rated 3 stars when there is no narrative. There was absolutely no communication from traveler so I have no way to respond unfortunately.

Why they chose this property
Nice relatively quiet area of the lake. Beautiful trees that allow for shade.
