Island Winds East Units: During Spring Break, mid-May through mid-August, Labor Day, and the Shrimp Festival event, each unit is allotted one (1) parking pass, regardless of its size. Extra parking options are available offsite, and please note that these arrangements may be subject to change. On-site paid parking is available and managed by the property's HOA. Parking passes can be purchased upon arrival and are valid for the duration of your stay. Please be sure to display the pass clearly on your driver's side dashboard at all times while on the property.

For the comfort and safety of all guests, U-hauls, trailers, boats, jet skis, buses, and similar vehicles are not permitted on the property.
NOTE: Island Winds East parking is limited to one (1) parking pass per unit (regardless of size) during Spring Break, mid-May through mid-August, Labor Day, and Shrimp Festival. Subject to change.

Location was great. Communication was good. Only suggest starter dish soap because only dishwasher detergent was included. Our balcony view was wonderful.

Location is great. However in this condo, you do not have much privacy. There is no privacy on the balcony. The room next door pretty much shares the balcony. Each room’s window has adjacent balconies looking in. Therefore you have to keep windows closed. It has a strange layout and doesn’t have much lighting inside. This property only allows one parking pass although it says you may can get two. Over all, we would stay at the Islands West but would not stay in the East property again.

We did not have a great experience. Upon checking in, we realized that 3 of the 4 balcony chairs were broken. A lamp in the living room was broken. The ceiling fan in the secondary bedroom was broken. The towel rod in the master bathroom was hanging out of the wall. All of the surfaces were so dusty. On our first morning, we realized our coffee maker was broken. The mattresses are so hard, no one slept well.
Overall, we were just extremely disappointed with how tired and un-maintained the property was. Would definitely never stay here again.

Honestly I was just disappointed.
Our family has been coming to the gulf for years. This condo was the first time everyone in our family had poor comments about. We arrived an hour early and weren’t able to check-in which was understandable. The problem was the condo wasn’t ready at check-in time either. It was an hour after check-in we were able to get in our condo. I run a cleaning business myself and the cleaning is terrible. Dirty dishes put up in cabinets. Dust over everything. Baseboards, light fixtures and walls dirty. The master bed is so uncomfortable. This is the first time I can’t wait to sleep in my bed. The second bathroom shower was clogged and wouldn’t drain. The air works in the living area but you sweat at night in rooms. The cabinets are all falling apart. The fans barely work. Some chairs on the balcony are broken. The oven door about takes the cabinet door off when you open it. The kitchen’s layout is off. Can’t open drawers bc of other drawers etc.
As far as the building itself…. Employees are very friendly and it was kept up. Easy walk to beach.

The location was fabulous and the condo served its purpose. The only complaint would be the parking. We were only allowed 1 space but had two cars. But the overflow parking was appreciated but still an annoyance to go back and forth. Overall experience was excellent!

If you rent a 2 bedroom condo for 2 families to stay, only 1 family gets a parking pass to stay on grounds while the other has to find local parking (which is hard to find during holidays & events).
The condo itself was very disappointing. It was not the cleanest I’ve been in & honestly did not compare to photo’s on the internet.
Perks: it was on the beach with easy access & had a nice beach front view from the balcony.

Our 2016 Spring Break Vacation
We had a wonderful vacation at Island Winds East in Gulf Shores, Alabama...First time we had ever been! The condo was nice and it was just like the pictures on the website. It was clean and had plenty of room for us. The only thing I could say that would have made it any better would have been softer mattresses. The mattress on the King Size bed was a little to hard/stiff for my taste. I would recommend a soft mattress topper. Other than that we have no complaints!! This condo is within walking distance to a lot of the attractions (The Hang Out)
