About this property

Casa Monarca Habit. 3

Casa Monarca is a unique and warm refuge in the heart of Oaxaca, located just a 5-minute walk from the iconic Temple of Santo Domingo and the tourist walkway. With autonomous access via electronic lock, our 7 rooms offer a perfect space for rest. Each room features TV, high-speed WiFi, and a private bathroom. Room 1 has 1 double bed and a private bathroom inside the room.

Casa Monarca is strategically located in downtown Oaxaca, near Cerro del Fortín and steps away from the main tourist points of interest.

- Room: With double bed, private bathroom, TV and WiFi.
- Hotel-style design: The accommodation does not have a kitchen, as it has been conceived to provide a hotel experience rather than a home experience.
- Access and parking: We do not have parking, but you can park on the street in front of the accommodation. It's worth mentioning that we are located on a steep street, which could present a challenge for people with limited mobility if they arrive on foot.
- Bathrooms and hot water: All bathrooms have hot water. Since the heater is solar, hot water availability may depend on the weather.
- Local details: Casa Monarca is surrounded by the best attractions in Oaxaca, such as markets, restaurants, and the iconic tourist walkway.
- Included services: We provide towels and other essential items for your comfort.

Enjoy the heart of Oaxaca with the comfort and privacy that only Casa Monarca can offer. We hope to welcome you soon!

The room 3 is a good size, with a comfortable queen bed and a window (I noticed other rooms without a window). There’s drinking water in the lobby with a seating area and a mini fridge (our food was taken with no notice though, so maybe label it?) The bathroom is not fully closed off and private; the top part of the door frame is open to the bedroom, if that’s a dealbreaker for you. Shower is not separated so the whole bathroom gets full of water when showering. But showers do get very hot which was very nice. Soap and towels are available. We were staying for 4 nights and our sheets / towels were never changed. But garbage was taken out. The hotel is located quite far up the steep hill which offers beautiful views but is a challenge to walk up the cobblestone roads and a lot of stairs - can use it as your exercise :) Overall a good experience, nothing very negative and the price was reasonable for around Day of Dead celebrations.
Stayed 4 nights in Nov 2025
