This cottage is such a special place. Not just because it's on a bluff overlooking the Great Peconic Bay which separates the north and south forks of Long Island, New York. But also because this was our primary residence for 14 years where we raised our wonderful daughter. We've since temporarily relocated for her high school years, and would like to share our home so others can make their special memories too.
Why they chose this property
My husband grew up spending summers on a lake in Canada. So when we decide to relocate from NYC to the Hamptons, his dream was to re-experience those halcyon days. While oceanfront was not in our budget, we came to realize that bayfront offered even greater benefits. First ... SUNSETS! Who doesn't love to sit on their own deck watching what feels like their own sunset?! In addition, there's less wind and warmer air and water temperatures on the bay than the ocean; the beaches are much less populated; and the swimming is more relaxing. All around, finding this house was a stroke of luck and we love where we landed!
