I really enjoyed Virginia's guest house. It was perfect for my needs; quiet and peaceful yet still close to Santa Fe. The outdoor area was so charming. A great place to relax!
This is a great place to get away! Its close enough to lots of things to do in Pecos and Santa Fe though. I will definitely stay here again if I get the chance.
Virginia was very warm and welcoming..provided a welcome basket as well. The place is literally a piece of paradise whether you want to hike, sit out on the porch and watch sunrise or sunset, star gaze..omg the amount of stars you can see AMAZING!!! It's an amazingly beautiful place, cute quaint and cozy!!! Will definitely be coming back!!!
This is the perfect place to stay to experience the Pecos River area! Within a half hour, you can be at any of a half dozen delightful trailheads. Or, you can just chill at the wonderful home that has been fashioned here. I would not change a thing!
A truly beautiful property, with access to Santa Fe and Las Vegas. A peaceful retreat, made special by the views and the kindness of the property owner, Virginia. The welcoming coffee, homemade applesauce, and chips were a sweet and thoughtful gift! The books were fun to read and the couch was very comfortable. The washer and dryer and fully stocked kitchen were welcome additions and made the stay feel more comfortable. I'll definitely be back!
Another great stay amongst the pines in the Pecos mountains!
This was my third stay at the Pecos Guest House, and it did not disappoint. The location is quiet, and even though it was hot (the July heat wave of 2023!), the mornings were cool and lovely. The close access to the hiking trails of the Pecos Wilderness, not to mention the river itself, is a definite plus! And you can always bop into Santa Fe for all that city has to offer. Although the house is not fancy, it is thoughtfully appointed and has everything that I need to be comfortable. I will definitely return!
I love this place! The care with which Virginia has made it feel like home is evident and much appreciated. I don't mind the lack of wi-fi and TV, as the cell phone service is good and it's nice to step away from technology a little bit. Even though the Pecos Wilderness was closed (because of the fires), Virginia helped me find other hikes nearby. I will be back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Virginia was such an amazing host. We were visited daily by the neighbors little pup we named "Scruffy." The views, birds, coyotes, butterflies and hummingbirds made our getaway that much more enjoyable and relaxing. I would highly recommend having a truck even though my Sonata made it up and down the unpaved driveways. :)
Thank you again Virginia for providing such a tranquil getaway in the beautiful mountains.

I had a great experience. The area is very quiet and peaceful. The only knock was the road is a gravel/dirt road. I had a truck but I would think it would be pretty rough on a car. Also, the house has no A/C(which I found out is common in that area). The house was a bit stuffy in the heat of the day but cools of nicely at night. Overall, a good place stay.
Nia was a responsive host. Her old trailer is clean, and I appreciate the fact that she doesn't use toxic laundry detergent such as All or Tide, which I am very allergic to, and she has a clean, functional, and working washing machine and oven. Nice to walk outside, and there are trees and a patio with a good view of far away mountains. The tile in the kitchen needs to be replaced or taped down, as I kept tripping over it, and maybe pads on the edges of the stove. There is a rough and bumpy road on the way up, but that is what makes it unique. :) I would visit again to get out of the city! She has a great collection of books!

Beautiful and serene views !!
Virginia,
What a great place to unwind and unplug ! wonderful way to celebrate our 25th anniversary!! I hadn't realized that there was no tv or wifi, and while at first I was a bit taken aback, but that "need" for electronic stimulis quickly abated by a glass of wine and that gorgeous view from the porch !! It didn't seem like your area may not be able to have traditional ac units, but for those of us from further south (texas) , having a box fan on hand would be useful. We bought one down the road and worked fine with windows open with the breeze we were getting. we really enjoyed ourselves and had 2 pups come say good morning and good evening almost every night , Romeo and Juliette, so cute! I will definitely request your place to others looking for this type of getaway ! Just a lovely, lovely, place t get your head together!
Virginia is a good host. When there was a mice problem, she provided a mouse trap, which caught the mouse that was pooping and eating through plastic. It rained a lot, and I notice outside on the patio, it leaks on the roof, and there is a lot of black mold on the wood. There were loud trucks going up and down the road, sometimes past 11 pm, and early morning. It would be nice if Pecos would have and keep a noise ordinance for this problem. I can grow sprouts inside, and the sprouts did not get mold, so that is a good sign! She uses non-toxic detergent, which is good. I think its a bit overpriced for a trailer.
We stayed at this location for a week and must say it was excellent. If you’re looking for a simple quiet refuge from the day to day this is the place. Close to Santa Fe. Close to the cool Mt air. Centrally located. Best of both worlds for me :).
We found the property to be awesome. Very quiet and homey, could not even hear the highway traffic. Property owner was very adept at ensuring that our needs were met.
The road to the property is a little more rough than we expected, but the place is well kept and well supplied. A few bugs inside but probably unavoidable being tucked in the trees like it is. It would have been nice to have a little more outside lighting at night
Virginia is an amazing host! She has great recommendations for hikes and adventures in the area. The guest house was clean, adorable, and very comfortable. Plus an amazing selection of Books! My husband and I will definitely be back. We loved the location, there is so much to explore!!
Fantastic little spot to enjoy the woods and mountains. Secluded, quiet, serene, great view out the front door. Nice selection of books, cozy new furniture, and well-stocked kitchen. Nice, strong shower. And Nia is so helpful and flexible. This is a wonderful place to stay, highly recommend.
Loved Nia’s place! Incredibly comfortable, cozy place up in the Piñon pine. Nicely furnished, great books to look through, close to Santa Fe if you want to go there. I really enjoyed my time there!
