At one point, we considered settling in the Cayo District. But everything changed during a drive along the breathtaking Hummingbird Highway. As we reached the southern coast and discovered the peaceful communities of Hopkins and Sittee River Village, we knew we had found something truly special. Welcoming, safe, and full of charm—it simply felt like home.
That feeling inspired us to create Sittee River Oasis—a place where others can experience the same sense of peace, connection, and discovery that brought us here.

It has the lush jungle feel we loved in the Cayo District, combined with easy access to the ocean—something we didn’t want to compromise on.
The location is also incredibly central. From here, you can easily explore Placencia, waterfalls, caves, and wildlife reserves, making it an ideal base for both relaxation and adventure.
What made us fall in love most, though, was the community. Hopkins and Sittee River Village are known for being safe, welcoming, and wonderfully laid-back. The people are genuinely friendly, and there’s always something to do—or the perfect excuse to do nothing at all.
