Had to contact host 30 minutes before check-in asking for codes for the property. Arrived 5 minutes after check-in time and was asked to wait 15 minutes to finish cleaning by someone sitting in a car. The host then messaged asking for 30 minutes. It was over an hour and 15 minutes before we could access the property. This was a huge inconvenience. The host was contacted requesting compensation for failure to honor the check-in time or communicating the delay in advance with no response.

Really bad neighborhood. Not safe for anybody to stay there! Used toilet paper with poop in the bathroom. Very old apartment with nothing.

Thank you for your feedback. We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we would like to clarify a few points: The apartment you stayed in is the same one that many guests have rated 10/10 and expressed a desire to return. It is well-maintained and accurately represented in our listing. Regarding the neighborhood, Newark is a lively and busy city, and this was clearly stated before your booking. Guests are aware of the location prior to arrival. Cleanliness is a priority for us, and we will review your comments. However, we believe your review does not reflect the reality of the property or the area. We welcome honest feedback, but we kindly ask that reviews remain fair and accurate for the benefit of future guests. Thank you for your understanding.
