Overall, our stay at the Cozy Cottage was great. The interior of the cottage was spotless, bed was comfy, Wi-Fi access was good. We were disappointed that the sliding doors from the living room to the deck were not working. We visited during a warm weather period, so it did get quite warm inside. The exterior needs help. Exterior needs new paint. The deck boards need to be replaced. We had difficulty working the key lock but finally made it work. Directions to the cottage were great and needed. Overall, we enjoyed our two days here.

The location was very easy to find using apple maps. Upon arriving, the key to the rental was not in the keypad lockbox, but already in the door— but because this was a very secluded place, we weren’t worried about security and brushed that off. Everything was well organised and items like cutlery and cooking ware were easy to locate. I must be completely honest though when I say this place was not very clean. There was dirt/crumbs on the counters and floors and cobwebs (spiders still living) in the shower and sinks. I live in the woods myself, so I understand they make their way in sometimes, but it seemed like these webs and spiders were ignored for quite a while before we arrived. Along with the spiders, I found two ticks— one alive on the bathroom wall (which I hadn’t even used, so I know I did not bring it in) and another found crawling on my leg. I addressed the spider issue to the property manager, and we did have pest control come out the next day. However I was very shaken by that experience the first night I seriously considered booking a hotel room or another rental. If creepy crawlies or slightly dirty surfaces/floors are an issue to you, I would suggest choosing a different rental. I was really looking forward to relaxing, but I was very panicked about the number of arachnids inside the rental. I give this place 4 stars because despite the lack of cleanliness, it’s still a beautiful and private location with a gorgeous interior.
