The Aspen Valley Hideaway - A Perfect Hub to Hiking and Tourist Attractions!
Retreat to “The Aspen Valley Hideaway” where you’ll feel secluded, yet at home, in this comfortable and well-supplied two-bedroom, one-bath cabin, nestled on a hillside in beautiful Rainbow Valley, just minutes from spectacular outdoor activities, Mueller State Park, and Cripple Creek. Forty-five minutes from Colorado Springs, you can enjoy a day of tourist attractions, shopping and everything the city offers, to return to starry night skies, peace and quiet where noise and light pollution are minimal. The cabin is cozy and relaxing as it hosts warm log interior, a gas “wood” stove, a hot tub, an extra-private patio area, and more. It’s our pleasure to have you consider staying at The Hideaway!
Cabin Description
Main Bedroom: King Bed
Second Bedroom: Two Twin Beds
(All beds purchased new March 2021.)
Living Room: Futon couch that converts to a bed.
When you enter you'll immediately notice the cathedral ceilings lined with classically stained, beetle-kill pine. This clean cabin carries a rustic warmth with its log interior, heated tile, soft carpets, and decorative antiques of an era gone by. The place is welcoming.
A well-equipped kitchen will make meal preparations convenient and you can also grill on the infrared BBQ. In the morning, enjoy using a traditional tea pot for brewing tea or, if you prefer, a fantastic cup of coffee with the fresh coffee beans we provide. Enjoy your meal or your morning coffee on the secluded deck to the sound and sights of hummingbirds, woodpeckers and songbirds, or you might appreciate exploring the short trail through the Aspens that winds up the hill behind the cabin. It will lead you to a bench and more mountain views for quiet contemplation.
After a day of outdoor adventures or sight-seeing return and soak in the hot tub and relax for the evening. The gas-fueled, “wood” stove makes the place cozy on chilly nights and a supply of board games and DVD’s are available for your enjoyment. When it’s time to sleep you’ll appreciate the goose and duck down comforters. To ensure your stay is convenient, shower essentials are supplied as well as laundry detergent for the washer and dryer. You'll even find a humidifier and mini-space heater to use if you want.
The Area
The Hideaway is a perfect hub for a Colorado vacation or a local weekend get-away. Whether you plan to hike at Mueller State Park, visit the Molly Kathleen Mine in Cripple Creek, go rafting in Buena Vista, play at The North Pole with your children, or just have a personal retreat in the mountains, The Aspen Valley Hideaway is a perfect home-base.

About the host
Hosted by Cindy L Dillon

We have lived in Colorado since 1998 and we fully enjoy being outdoors in the mountains.
Originally from the Catskill Mountains in upstate NY, the Rocky Mountains called us west. We raised our kids on the Front Range north of Colorado Springs until moving here in Teller County last fall as "empty nesters" ready to embark on a new journey. Cindy is a "retired" teacher and Tim is an ultrasonographer. We currently live in Florissant, CO, just 20 minutes from "The Hideaway", so we are available to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Why they chose this property
We love Colorado and we want to share the beauty of this place with others as well as have a "hideaway" from life's demands for ourselves if needed! This cabin is the solution! We lived in it ourselves for eight months to "learn the home" and make various improvements pertinent to our guest's (YOUR) relaxation and enjoyment.
What makes this property unique
We immediately felt the cabin's potential the moment we entered. We LOVE the pine ceiling and bedroom walls. The warmth of the wood is so inviting. Rainbow Vally is beautiful, generally silent and the seclusion of this cabin tucked on the hillside makes it a private retreat. A retreat is how we perceive this home. We hope others will use it to make happy memories and restore themselves . Finally, the location is remote, but convenient enough for people traveling from out-of-state as well as near-by cities. We hope this will make that "get-away" more possible for people to come, play and rest.
