FLEXIBLE LAYOUT, ALWAYS PRIVATE:
With individually lockable bedrooms and bathrooms, I offer flexible configurations as a 1-, 2-, or 3-bedroom rental to match your group size and budget. No matter the setup, you’ll have full, private access to the entire home—never any shared spaces. Just search by bedroom count to find the listing that suits you best.
BEDDING & SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS:
This home includes two serene bedrooms, each with a quality queen-sized bed, soft linens, and calming touches for restful sleep.
Bedding and linens are included for up to four guests as part of your standard stay.
For a fifth guest, there’s a $15/night fee, which covers full bedding and a comfortable floor mattress sleeping setup.
If your third and fourth guest prefers separate sleeping arrangements, we offer an optional extra floor mattress setup for $20 per stay — includes all linens and prep.
MASCULINE + SPA BATHROOMS:
The master bathroom offers a masculine, “man cave” aesthetic and includes a urinal for convenience and comfort.
The second bathroom features a two-person jetted tub, rainfall shower, and built-in steam sauna—perfect for unwinding after outdoor adventures.
CLEAN AIR COMFORT:
The Bosch HVAC system with Plasma Ionizer actively reduces allergens and odors, offering cleaner indoor air for guests with sensitivities or those who simply value a fresh environment.
FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN:
Enjoy a chef-ready kitchen with a double gas oven (including air fryer and convection settings), twin chill refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. All cookware, utensils, a hand mixer, drip coffee maker, and Keurig are provided.
EVERYDAY CONVENIENCE:
Take advantage of in-home laundry, a tankless water heater for unlimited hot water, and a peaceful street setting for restful evenings.
WALKABLE SHOPS & DINING:
Located within walking distance of Tudor’s Biscuit World, Gino’s Pizza, Subway, Pizza Hut, Burger King, Walgreens, Foodland Grocery, Go-Mart, Family Dollar, a local barber shop, ice cream stand, hardware store, library, post office, senior center, and First Community Bank.

About the host
Hosted by cindy patterson

Long before Airbnb and VRBO became household names, I was already hosting. Back in my Virginia Beach days, I rented rooms to women from around the world—welcoming them into our home and helping them adjust to life in America while learning the English language. My kids grew up witnessing those beautiful exchanges, and we still cherish the rich cultural experiences and friendships that came from that time.
Why they chose this property
A Home with History and Heart
This home has been part of my life since I was about 11 years old, when my grandparents owned it and kept it in meticulous shape for over 40 years. My grandfather—a retired coal miner who loved sharp suits, polished cars, elegant pocket watches, and his gun collection—took tremendous pride in the house. He was known for going around the property himself, looking for things that might need fixing just so he could hire a trusted neighbor to repair them. It brought him joy to keep everything in top form.
My grandmother, the heart of hospitality, absolutely loved company. Whether it was dinner or just pie and coffee, you could count on her to have something ready. She made everyone feel like family.
As a teenager, I’d often stand at the kitchen sink with a soda or sweet tea, staring out over the backyard, soaking in the peaceful view. And my grandfather? He could spend hours at the dining room table near the window, simply admiring that same view in quiet satisfaction.
I still remember being around 17, sitting on the sofa in that very home, whispering to myself how much I wished I could live there someday. I never imagined that nearly 37 years later, that wish would become reality.
When I bought the home from a family member, it had fallen into disrepair. Restoring it was a labor of love—from the foundation to the finishes—making it feel like new again while still honoring its roots. My family was overjoyed to see it come back to life.
The dining room furniture and cherry bedroom dresser you see? They belonged to my grandparents. They’re still standing strong, just like the memories built around them. Now, I have the joy of sharing this space with others—and I hope it brings your family as much comfort, peace, and happiness as it brought mine.

What makes this property unique
What truly sets this home apart is the spa-style bathroom—once a bedroom, now transformed into a private retreat featuring a jetted tub and a steam sauna. In fact, I’ve been told I'm the only host in the area offering a steam sauna unit, making this an especially rare and luxurious find.
Another standout feature is the adaptability of the space. With locks on each of the three bathrooms and bedrooms—including one that's currently styled as an office but easily serves as a cozy sleeping space—I can tailor the layout to fit your needs.
Whether you're here for a peaceful solo getaway, a romantic weekend, or making memories with family and friends, my goal is to provide a stay that feels just right for you. It’s more than a place to sleep—it’s a space with a story, comfort with character, and flexibility built around your needs.
