About this property
Heartspring: Serene Retreat on 3.5 Acres with Epic Mountain & Valley Views
Enjoy the best of Crestone's uniquely stunning landscape at our tranquil, private, perfectly appointed retreat home situated on 3 1/2 acres of piñon and juniper at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. At the end of a quiet cul-de-sac less than 10 minutes from historic Crestone with mountain and valley views in all directions, inside and out. An outdoor patio, stargazing deck, covered porch, gas fireplace, and steam shower make for a relaxing, joyful stay immersed in nature's beauty.
More details:
Our Heartspring retreat home is on 3 1/2 extremely private acres at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac on one side and over 40 acres of piñon pine and juniper protected forest greenbelt on the other. With the 14,000' Sangre de Cristo mountains directly to the east, Blanca Peak and the Great Sand Dunes National Park to the south, and the expansive San Luis Valley to the north and west, and the San Juan mountains to the north, you are surrounded by a unique landscape of stunning natural beauty.
Very few other homes are visible from our property, and, of course, the entire area is a designated International Dark Sky Community. Because of the lack of light pollution in the region, on any clear night, you can look up and see the Milky Way in all its glory.
The two-story home is spacious and inviting, with three bedrooms—two upstairs (one queen, one with two twins) and one queen bedroom downstairs. There are two full bathrooms (one on each floor), including a luxurious upstairs bath with an enclosed steam shower.
The open-concept floor plan with natural light and views in every direction invites both relaxation and connection. The living room features comfortable sofas, a gas fireplace, board games, and a 55" HDTV. The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a Viking stove, custom cast concrete counters, and a dining bar for easy meals. Radiant in-floor heat warms the home in winter, with slate tile flooring downstairs and hardwood upstairs.
Step outside to choose your favorite spot:
– a new stone patio with outdoor dining and lounge areas
– an upstairs deck perfect for sunrise coffee or stargazing
– a covered porch ideal for sunsets and watching desert storms roll through the valley.
We’ve created a space that’s clean, healthy, and intentionally uncluttered—designed to support restoration and wellbeing. The kitchen is fully stocked with essentials, including cookware, spices, coffee, and herbal tea. Inspired by Southwestern minimalism, the home is furnished with natural fiber linens, earthy textures, and nature-inspired decor. We use only non-toxic cleaning products and fragrance-free detergents to ensure a welcoming environment for all guests.
Heartspring offers everything you need for a relaxing, rejuvenating retreat—or a comfortable base camp for exploring the great outdoors.

While this is a new listing, our property has been on VRBO for more than ten years with the previous owner, with nearly two hundred five-star reviews. We've included snapshots of those in the photos here. We're excited to continue to offer an exceptional experience for guests at our home here in Crestone!
There is limited cellular service in the area. It's not fast, and you will find that some parts of Crestone are without service. At the house we currently have DSL internet and WiFi, but we have faster service and other upgrades coming soon!
If you don't want to use the front stairs, there is a gentle path from the driveway to the rear patio, from which you can walk around to the front door to gain access to the house.
Being on the fringe of a mountainous wilderness area, the neighborhood does experience occasional visits by wildlife, including bears and mountain lions. Please keep all trash within the container provided and keep the container secured. If you have excess trash, please plan to take it with you when you leave.
