Our family enjoyed our time in the cottage! We spent time cooking and eating outside. The kitchen was well equipped with supplies which was a bonus. We also enjoyed the surrounding area including the Sand Dunes and Alamosa.
Unique home, beautiful 360 degree views, everything we needed was available (comfy bedding & furniture, well stocked kitchen, basic supplies) & easy access to hiking trails, sand dunes, and the town of Crestone. Definitely recommend!
My friends and I had a little weekend getaway and this place was absolutely perfect! The home was well put together, tidy, peaceful, and absolutely adorable. I'd be happy to get the chance to stay again!
We loved our stay, they have thought of all the little details. Everything was very clean. Would definitely stay again.

Beautiful place! Great vibes!
What a cozy, bright, and welcoming place. We were all so drawn by how quiet it was at night and in the morning. It was beautifully decorated and we felt right at home (and even playfully pretended we lived there for the night.) A pretty easy commute to Balley View hot springs, the whole trip left me feeling charged and relaxed! Would love to join again!
This precious little home has care and warmth woven furnishings, layout, and interface with host. This was really a special place for us to rest in the energy of Crestone, nourishing, beautiful, and very restorative.
Spent a couple of nights in the area and this property was a dream — you have everything you need, courteous hosts, and an amazing view. We loved it so much we want to buy if this space ever goes on sale, that’s how good it is.
My husband, daughter and I stayed here to drive to the Great Sand Dunes National Park for hiking. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The decor was beautiful and the outdoor space was exactly as pictured. We've stayed in a lot of rented homes all over the place, and the home was exactly as it appeared in the photos! If we return to Crestone, we'd definitely stay here again.
We stayed for three nights with our two kids, 4 and 6 y/o. It's a great house, beautifully decorated. I LOVE all of the plants. Kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, baking sheets, coffee grinder etc. The outdoor spaces are nice as well, although I'll admit that there were sooo many mosquitoes/bugs all day that we really couldn't use it. No AC, but it worked fine as long as we closed windows in the morning and opened them as soon as we could in the evening. Fans in the windows helped as well. The property owner was responsive via text when we had questions. FYI, there is an automatic damage protection fee that gets added that I don't recall encountering for other VRBOs, so I found that odd. But it was still a great find and we enjoyed it. Sand dunes are an hour away, and the alligator park is about 30 minutes away. Would recommend!
Cute cottage five minutes from Crestone surrounded by trees, flowers and hummingbirds. Outdoor spaces are lovely and private. Especially helpful was a Crestone guidebook that helped us find interesting local sights, including the Crestonehenge labyrinth.
We picked Crestone as a place as our central home base while we explored Sand Dunes National Park and nearby attractions in the San Luis Valley. We loved this home. It was quiet, secluded, cozy, charming, and had a beautiful garden with hummingbirds. We definitely recommend this home for anyone staying in or around Crestone.
Very cozy cute little house. Light and bright. So quiet! Great view. It served my needs very well. Takes a little while to heat up so if you’re coming in the winter you might want to bring some wood for the first evening. Also be prepared to take out your trash and recycling.

Comfortable, cozy stay
We really enjoyed the Adobe style and the uniqueness of the home. I loved all the sun you get through out the day, and being able to enjoy the sunset out back, as well as the awesome Mountain View’s from the front of the home. We love the ability to cook when we rent a home and appreciated the cooking space and amenities provided. I must mention the heated floor, as some one who prefers to go barefoot, I loved the warmth under my feet!
This is such a lovely and peaceful place. The style of the home made me feel right at home! I loved the enclosed garden in the front and sweeping view of the valley as well.
The Mountains are RIGHT THERE and so grand!
We had a fantastic 3-week stay in Stan's cottage on Badger Rd. The house was very comfortable, easy to live in and work from (many zoom meetings), not to mention the beautiful setting. We would definitely want to rent the house again the net time we visit Crestone!
We loved the decor and cozy feel of this place. Perfect southwestern vibe with amazing mountain views and starry skies. Quick drive to the small town of Crestone and only about an hour away from the Great Sand Dunes.
The only reason we’re giving it 4 stars is because you have to take care of your trash (as in take it with you..) and for the price we think this should be taken of by the rental company Evolve. The coffee machine was broken which was a bummer but not knocking them for that since it hadn’t been reported yet. Last note is prepare to walk down the dark stairs at night if you need to use the bathroom.
Lovely home with a beautiful yard. We loved watching the hummingbirds each morning in the front garden area. The back yard was the perfect spot to watch the sunset. Very relaxing with all the amenities.
We enjoyed ourselves from day one until our last day, the natural views the peacefulness and the birds, squirrels. chipmonks, humming birds, and many other types of birds. The adobe home is well maintained and a pleasure to stay in. Stan, the owner was very helpful and responsive with various questions we asked him over the time we stayed at the home. We give this home high ratings because of its overall up keep and the truly peacefull stay that we had. It was therapeutic. A genuine RETREAT of peace.
