About this property
Spring Oak Farm 3-bedroom house in Surry close to Acadia Nat'l Park
Make yourself at home in this 3-bedroom Surry retreat. The house features 1 king bed on the main floor, 1 queen bed and 1 queen with 2 twin trundle beds upstairs, perfect for a relaxing stay for your family. With a washer/dryer, guests can enjoy a comfortable and convenient experience. We look forward to welcoming you to Spring Oak Farm.
Please note: Spring Oak Farm, built in 1808, was once a large farm. We are very fortunate that the land surrounding the farm is now owned and operated by The Blue Hill Heritage Trust and totals over 2030 acres of woods, fields, and logging roads/trails that are perfect for walking, hiking, and running. The Trust maintains over 11 miles of trails that are accessible right behind this rental.
The Trust also uses some of this property to operate a firewood cooperative and a composting site. Although the composting site is operated under experienced guidance and monitored by the State, it can occasionally produce an odor. Rarely, if the wind is right, that odor can drift toward the property.
The owner of the composting site is extremely careful to manage the site in such a manner as to not produce offensive offsite odors. The compost facility is licensed by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, and has been in operation since March 2022. The facility has only received 1 complaint, which we feel is a testament to their diligence to operate a neat and clean compost facility."
If you book Spring Oak Farm, we hope you enjoy the property and the beautiful nature surrounding it.
