Secluded Getaway

Place was really nice for calmness and relaxation. Pool was clean and never too crowded. The beach had rough waves so didn’t get to enjoy that. Only issue was that the microwave didn’t work and nobody came to fix it.

Great Place to Stay

We had a great time. We had turtles swimming in the ocean, right off the rocks to the right. Clean unit and stocked well too. The staff was wonderful when our daughter got a migraine on check out day and they let us stay an additional 3 hours so she could sleep. Will definitely be back.

Hawaii paradise

Our family of 4 stayed in condo for 9 days, was great. Close to everything we did, beach was perfect, and staff at condo was friendly. The small problem we had with the wash machine was fixed in an hour. Highly recommend. Thanks for hosting our Maui vacation. Hope to be back!

Just as expected - perfect for a family

Place was exactly as expected. Good size for a family, the 2 large lanais were great. Warm pool excellent for young children. Lots of families were there. Beach was a little rough for younger kids, but lots of quieter beaches nearby. Very convenient having the grocery store a minute away. Loved the beautiful lush area, had a great time

Great time in Hawaii!

This property is perfect for a family of two adults and two young children. There is lots of space in the condo, the pool was great, the property was lovely and well maintained, and the staff who worked there were so friendly! ITrip was also super friendly and responsive to our emails. We had a minor issue with something in the kitchen that was resolved within two hours. Everything in the condo was in good working order. Parts of the unit have been upgraded, but other parts were a bit run down. All the beds were very comfy. The unit was definitely clean upon arrival, but in our opinion could use a bit more of a deep clean of the carpeted areas, under the furniture, etc. I also liked how the condo was very close to mulitple beaches, and enjoyed many of the stores up at the Napili Market, just a 2 min drive away. Would recommend!

Great for kids

Very clean, well stocked with paper products and linens - wonderful beach and pool for kids. Nice lanai. Master king bed mattress too soft but 2nd bedroom had very comfortable beds. All bathrooms upstairs.

The whole stay was great however there should have been a booklet to know where everything was in the condo and how to work things such as the deck awning. Also sand or pool toys for kids would have been great !

Beautiful property, just a bit tired

We had a wonderful time at Kahana Sunset. The location is ideal and the property is lovely. We particularly enjoyed the pool and sitting gazing at the ocean. We had a couple minor issues and they were addressed promptly. Only complaint, and it's small, is that the unit is a bit tired and would benefit greatly from fresh carpet, paint and tiling (several are cracked). Also, while the kitchen is well stocked, we had to run the dishwasher too often because there were just enough dishes and cups for 4 people.

Great Trip

We rented units A8 and C8 for a week in March 2023. We had an issue with the AC in one unit and the shower head in another unit. The response from maintenance was incredible. Timely, responsive, and resolved in record time. We requested a late check out last minute due to some car issues and it was granted for one unit. I honestly cannot say enough about the service and responsiveness of the team. Truly incredible! Top Box across the board!

Excellent Family Spot

I've been coming to Kahana Sunset for over 40 years and this is my 5th time bringing my family. We're a family of 5 and this unit and complex is a perfect fit. The unit was spacious and had good amenities. After the first night my full grown 17 year old son mentioned the pull-out mattress was uncomfortable. I asked Leanna at iTrip if she could help out and within the day she delivered a memory foam mattress topper and new blanket. My son was very comfortable from then on. This unit is showing it's age a bit but it felt homey and was easy to function in. The kitchen was well stocked and we cooked most meals there. There were some great starter supplies with dish soap, shampoo, lotion, cleaner, laundry soap, TP and paper towels. My only wish was for starter coffee since we arrived at the unit at 11pm and the time change made for an early morning without coffee ;) Other than this, the trip was really relaxing and fun. I appreciated how quickly our refundable deposit was returned as well.

Great family friendly condo in Napili

Our family rented two units for a week, ours was C8. We settled on Kahana Sunset primarily for its location near Kaanapali but quiet, neighborhood feel, proximity to a small beach, small footprint, pools, BBQs and generally positive reviews. Communication with the host was great off the bat and through the start of the visit. However, at the end of our trip we inquired about possibly extending our stay and didn’t get a response. We ended up going to Mana Kai in Wailea for 3 days and it was amazing. I agree with previous reviewers that the master bed was uncomfortable, but wasn't a big enough deal for us to raise an issue. It’s just really soft and that a personal preference thing. The condo is nicely renovated and had the essentials for surviving for a week. While the bathrooms are also nicely done, they are quite small and upstairs, a challenge for our less mobile senior guests that other should consider. Bedrooms are also upstairs. We also failed to do our homework regarding the rain and surf at Napili. In our case it rained nearly every morning and some afternoons while 5 minutes south it was sunny. The surf was quite rough during our visit so swimming in the ocean was off limits. By contrast Wailea was snorkel city. If that’s important to you, consider it as well. All in all the grounds are beautifully kept, BBQs nice and clean, pool is fantastic, and the views from the communal area are second to none. We loved the small scale and generously sized lanais. We had a great time! Mahalo!

Do not rent this property

The actual unit was fine, but the air conditioning did not work from the time we checked in. I specifically reserved a condo with AC because of the children. We had 2 small children (ages 9 months and 2 years) and even with fans, nap time and sleeping at night was terrible. I called the property manager immediately after check-in and pretty much every day after that. At day four of our stay, they did send out a repairman. At day 5, it was fixed and stayed fixed for 2 days. Then it crapped out again. I asked that we be relocated to a different unit, nope. I called every day, begging for them to fix this thing, but nope. Also, not as important, but still desirable, the microwave didn't work from day one. We were told a replacement would be delivered but it never was. I did call more than once about this as well. They did issue a miniscule refund (about 10% of the amount we had paid). This was an expensive vacation for us, and Maui is gorgeous, but we were so sleep deprived it was hard to enjoy. Once we started having difficulties, I looked at the reviews again, because this unit had received good reviews. I noticed someone rented this unit earlier and posted that the microwave was broken and not fixed during their stay. I suspect that the microwave was never replaced and remained in that state until we arrived. Even if they fixed the AC, I would avoid this unit, because you can bet if anything goes wrong, it will not be fixed
