About the host
Hosted by Derek
Hi, I'm Derek! I have a passion for creating beautiful spaces that feel like home—whether you’re visiting for a few days or staying a few weeks. I come from a background in customer experience and hospitality, and I bring that mindset into every aspect of hosting. I believe travel should be both exciting and effortless, and my goal is to make each guest feel genuinely welcomed and cared for from the moment they book.
I got into hosting because I love the details—designing a space that feels calm, functional, and inviting, while also anticipating the little things that make a stay truly memorable. Whether it’s plush bedding, a fully stocked kitchen, fast Wi-Fi, or local recommendations you won’t find in a guidebook, I want your time in Seattle to be seamless and special.
Outside of hosting, I enjoy hiking the PNW trails, exploring new restaurants in different neighborhoods, and traveling with my family. I’m also a huge fan of weekend markets, vintage shops, and pretty much anything involving good food and great company. Living in Seattle means I get to enjoy all of this daily—and it’s been a joy to share that with guests through my properties.
What I enjoy most about hosting is the opportunity to help people create lasting memories. Whether you're here to explore Seattle for the first time, reconnect with family, work remotely, or just get away for a while, I’m here to support your trip however I can. I’ve welcomed solo travelers, families with kids, visiting professionals, and friend groups—and I’m always excited to meet new guests from around the world.
Above all, I want you to feel at ease and at home. My spaces are designed to be clean, thoughtfully appointed, and ready for whatever kind of stay you’re looking for. If you need anything during your visit, I’m just a message away.
Looking forward to hosting you soon and helping you experience Seattle the way locals do—comfortably, joyfully, and with a few great coffee shops nearby!

Why they chose this property
We chose Ballard because it perfectly captures everything we love about Seattle—neighborhood charm, rich culture, walkability, and a laid-back yet vibrant energy. It’s one of the few areas in the city that feels like a self-contained village, where you can walk from coffee shops to parks to the beach, all while being just a short drive from downtown.
Ballard’s character is a blend of old and new—historic roots as a Scandinavian fishing town mixed with modern, creative energy. We love the mix of people it attracts: young professionals, artists, families, and lifelong Seattleites. It’s a place where you can sip a locally roasted espresso in the morning, explore indie boutiques or a bustling farmers market in the afternoon, and end your day with sunset views at Golden Gardens Beach or a pint from one of the many world-class craft breweries just around the corner.
What we enjoy most is how walkable and authentic it is. Everything feels close and accessible, yet there’s always something new to discover—from street murals and live music to seasonal festivals and amazing food. It’s the kind of neighborhood where your “favorites list” just keeps growing: Un Bien for Caribbean sandwiches, Hazlewood for a perfectly crafted cocktail, Biscuit & Bean for a weekend brunch, and Ballard Locks for peaceful nature walks or watching boats pass through.
Ballard also offers a sense of calm and comfort that’s rare in a major city. Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning after years, there’s a familiarity here that makes you feel at home.
We chose this neighborhood not just for what it has, but for how it makes people feel—welcomed, inspired, and connected. We wanted to create a space that matches that feeling: comfortable, modern, and ideal for groups, families, or remote workers who want the best of Seattle at their doorstep.
Ballard is more than just a neighborhood—it’s a lifestyle, and we’re thrilled to share it with our guests.

What makes this property unique
This modern 4-level Ballard townhome stands out among Seattle’s top-rated listings for its thoughtful design, rare amenities, and unbeatable versatility for families, remote workers, and groups up to 8. While many Ballard Airbnbs are charming but compact, this spacious home delivers true comfort, flexibility, and luxury that few others match.
Unlike most 3-bedroom listings, the first-floor suite offers two queen beds and a 65" Samsung Smart TV, making it perfect for families traveling with kids or colleagues who want to spread out. The top-floor primary suite boasts a king bed, walk-in closet, spa-style bath, and a private balcony with mountain sunset views—a rare treat even among luxury stays.
Guests will love the open-concept living space with its second 65" Smart TV, modern furnishings, and a fully stocked kitchen featuring premium appliances and high-end cookware. Whether you’re whipping up breakfast or gathering for dinner, the space feels like a true home away from home.
One of the home’s standout features is air conditioning in the main living room and primary suite—something surprisingly rare in Seattle but incredibly valuable during the city’s warmer months. Add to that blazing-fast Wi-Fi, self-check-in via smart lock, and in-unit laundry, and it’s fully equipped for remote workers, digital nomads, or extended stays.
Located in the heart of Ballard, you’re just steps from beloved restaurants like Un Bien and La Cuadra, excellent coffee shops like Biscuit & Bean and Homage, and some of Seattle’s best breweries, farmers markets, and parks. Golden Gardens Beach and the Ballard Locks are minutes away, while downtown Seattle is a quick drive or transit ride.
Whether you’re in town for work, exploring with family, or recharging in style, this Ballard retreat combines elevated comfort with walkable convenience in one of Seattle’s most vibrant neighborhoods.
