An inflatable paddleboard, kayak, seated floats with cup holders and portable chairs to lounge on the dock are also available for your enjoyment. In addition, the dock is equipped to store your boat and has stairs leading right into the water, making for hours of fun and relaxation. Not to mention the abundant wildlife on display; bald eagles, loons, kingfishers and hummingbirds all add to the magic that can be experienced here.
Traveling solo and need a peaceful, comfortable, inspired place to relax, unwind and recharge? The cottage is equipped to make your stay effortless and unforgettable. It's the perfect setting for morning coffee overlooking the water, reading a book cozied up on the couch, or lounging on the deck or the dock, exploring the lake by paddleboard or kayak or floating the afternoon away.
Writing a book or working remotely and need some inspiration, peace and quiet? We got you. The cottage comes complete with Wifi and stunning views either from the indoor dining table, the desk in the 2nd bedroom or the patio table on the adjoining deck.
For those that love to fish, Unity Pond is very low traffic encompassing 2523 acres, with a maximum depth of 41 feet. It is known for supporting a variety of fish species, including both warm water and cold water game fish. Popular catches include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, black crappie, chain pickerel, and white perch. Additionally, anglers can find landlocked salmon, lake trout (togue), rainbow smelt, and burbot. Other species present include American eel, banded killifish, brook trout, brown bullhead, common shiner, and yellow perch. If you plan on bringing your boat, the public boating launch is less than 5 minutes away!
For the foodies out there, The Lost Kitchen is only 15 minutes away! While securing that reservation may only be a dream, there are still opportunities to enjoy and take a piece of The Lost Kitchen home with you. There is a summer Farmer's Market held there on Tuesdays late June to late August and certain days of the week you can even enjoy shopping at The Mill, bites, sips and sweets and seasonal events.
Although you will feel miles away from civilization, you are still only 5 minutes away from the following modern conveniences; a grocery store/liquor store, a gas station, several eateries, a post office, ATM and a laundromat. Making it easy for quick trips if something is needed or forgotten.
Whether you're unwinding after a day on the water, exploring or simply enjoying the soothing ambiance, this cottage is the perfect escape. It is our home away from home and our sanctuary. Therefore, we only make it available 6 weeks per year. We hope you find this place as magical and relaxing as we do. It really is a little slice of heaven on earth. Enjoy your stay!
**PLEASE NOTE: This is a 3 season cottage, meaning showers, flushing the toilet, and washing dishes and hands are done with lake water. There is a small hot water heater attached to this system to make showers and washing dishes comfortable. 2- 5 gallon spring water bottles are provided per stay for cooking, drinking and brushing your teeth and are easily utilized with the instant hot and cold water dispenser pictured in the photos. If more water is need, the grocery store has more spring water available that can be easily added to the existing 5 gallon bottle.
In addition to 2 double beds, for parties of 6, there is a queen size premium Aerobed available to be used in the living room.

About the host

Hi there! I currently live in Portland, Maine and have owned this cottage for the past 4 years. It came to me at a time when I needed it most and I'm so excited to be able to share the magic of this place with others.
Why they chose this property
The minute I saw this cottage, I knew it was meant to be. It was everything I was looking for. From the views, to the coziness, to the wildlife, it was exactly the type of getaway I had been searching for. It checked every single box.
It was inherently charming but definitely needed a little love and attention and it has been SO fun turning it into my dream cottage! I still have many other plans up my sleeve to improve upon the cuteness, charm and functionality. Stay tuned!

What makes this property unique
I understand the price point is slightly higher than the other options in the area but once you're here, I really believe you'll understand why. Everything about this place has been meticulously thought out. It's not just a rental unit created to make income. It is my home. With that, comes the care and attention to detail that can truly make your stay special. I want you to be comfortable. I want you to be wowed by its charm. I want you to create memories here that will last a lifetime.
