A public boat landing in town Newport on Elm Street 3.5 miles from the cottage is available to launch your boat if you plan to bring your own for cruising our beautiful lake or fishing during your vacation. The private yard and sandy beach front area has a fire pit (wood Included) for your enjoyment for night time campfires. A local campground directly across the lake provides a wonderful atmosphere of sights and smells all season long and during the 4th of July, some of the area's most spectacular fireworks!

One of the area's finest seafood restaurants Anglers is a mile from the cottage (a nice walk) and our well known Dragonfly Winery offering daily wine tastings is only a short 10 minute drive in nearby Stetson.
Downtown Newport is approximately three miles and has a grocery store, pizzas and subs, Sawyers a popular ice cream takeout, several gas stations, laundry mat, diner, banks and an ATM. Nearby there is a super Wal-Mart, Pizza Hut, Dunkin Donuts, bowling alley, and various restaurants. There are ATV trails in the area and in nearby Palmyra there is an eighteen-hole golf course. Sebasticook lake is known for several Bass tournaments held during the summer season. Boating, fishing and fireworks in July!

About the host
Hosted by PEGGY SEAVEY
Jim and Peggy have been married since 1985 and have made Newport and living on Sebasticook lake their home. Both grew up in the area, Jim in Newport and Peggy in the nearby town of Corinna. The lake has always been a huge part of Jim's life as he has lived beside it since he was a little boy. A lifetime of exploring on a boat or a snowmobile, Jim knows every inch of Sebasticook lake and all the history and stories to go with it! As a young man, he found a fixer camp of his own, Jim & Peggy eventually built a year-round home there. Together they raised a daughter with the same passion for the water and all it has to offer, that they have enjoyed for years. Peggy is an avid flower gardener and interior decorator, both of them share a passion for antiques, and Jim collects and restores old John Deere tractors and authentic and antique military vehicles. At this point in their lives, they are thrilled to have found a cottage that they restored together and get to share with other families so they too can make everlasting memories of time spent on this beautiful lake!
Why they chose this property
With both of us having the privilege of knowing this lake so well, we carefully sought out one of the most desirable areas of the lake and found the perfect cottage to meet the needs and desires of today's lifestyles while keeping the charms and tranquility of yesteryear.
What makes this property unique
Gorgeous sunsets, great beach for swimming, very private and quiet yet conveniently located to shopping and attractions, and meticulously maintained both inside and out.
