About the host
Hosted by Emma Cranny

My brother and I are Irish citizens who over to France from the UK 3 years ago with 2 cats and 2 horses, to start a family business. Our chambred'hote is in it's 2nd year and has proven very popular! We have now, at long last, opened our 3 bed gite. ASide form this joint venture, Stephen has a film production compnay and I teach English to non native speakers.
Why they chose this property
Ideally situation in an area that has something of a micro climate, meaning we enjoy good weather for around 8 months of the year, we are well placed for access to beaches, lakes, chateau, forests and a multitude of oteh tourist attractions, including the fabulous Puy du Fou. Surrounded by countryside the property has some amazing views and is generally a tranquil haven.
What makes this property unique
Created from part of our ancient barn, dating back to around 1710, our gite retains some of the original features and charm of the building. We have re-vamped and re-used many things, such as: tables made out of old window shutters, fencing made from old barn barriers and the large staircase has been crafted from original oak floorboards that were in our storage barn. To compliment this the decor is contemporay with a touch of an industrial style. On site is a beautiful old stone dovecot dating back to 1722 and the main house which was built 10 years prior to that. Wonderful views across rolling countryside are accompanyed by the sound of the birds singing and the occational whinny from the horses. the gite canbe divided into a 1 bed gits on the ground floor with 2 chambre dhote rooms upstairs if or when the whole proerty is not rented out.
