About this property
Coastal Comfort Yurt
Get cozy and settle in to this rustic space. The Yurt is technically off-grid, but we do have wifi !
The yurt is heated by a wood stove where you can enjoy the ambience through the glass door. The stove keeps the yurt very nice and warm, even on cold winter nights. A kitchenette allows the basics needed. There is a comfortable queen sized bed and even a hammock for lounging in! Unwind in this glamping experience while being close to all lunenburg has to offer.
The Yurt is a cozy & inviting open space. The stove inside also doubles as a cook top, so you can prepare meals right on top of the stove. It also has a warming oven above the cook top which you can use to slowly warm up food or keep food warm.
We have a kitchenette and the basic supplies needed to prepare meals. There is a propane cooktop and comfortable queen sized bed and even a hammock for lounging in. We could potentially sleep a third person in the yurt if they were comfortable sleeping in a hammock.
Enjoy the surrounding scenery during the day with a view of an open meadow where you can often see several deer and occasionally even an entire herd will pass through or congregate.
At night you can close up the windows if you wish or you can keep them open and enjoy the beautiful stars and night sky. We have set up string lights around the inside of the yurt for a beautiful ambient glow. On clear nights you will also enjoy the view of the night sky while lying in bed out through the dome at the top of the yurt. Depending on the cycle of the moon, occasionally the moon will be directly visible through the doom and shine moon light directly onto the bed. This is always a beautiful experience.
We also have an outdoor fire pit which is available for our guests to use should you wish to spend time outdoors, located just past the yurt.
*As noted in the Description above, there are some important things to be aware of when considering booking a stay in our Yurt:
- During the wintertime you will need to know how to start a fire in a wood stove and tend to it.
- There is no running water, and no shower. We do provide tap water in water jugs for you to use for cooking or cleaning.
- We have a (very clean) outhouse to use as a bathroom (as seen in the pictures)
- For cooking, we have the option of either using the wood stove which has a cooktop, or we have propane burners in the kitchenette.
- We have a kitchen sink that drains into a bucket underneath the counter. You will have to empty the bucket outside when it gets full.
If you can handle these several items then this would be an excellent space for you to book a getaway. If you are not comfortable with any of these items then this may not be the place for you, but you can always contact us to see if there is anything we can do to help make our experience work for you.
And please let us know if you have any questions. We are more than happy to assist you!
