This chalet has an amazing view and is located very close to a few beautiful beaches. Definitely recommended for couples who want to have a relaxing stay in Nova Scotia.
Riverport is a great area, quiet, few tourists. Local marine
shop with endless supply of nautical artifacts is extremely interesting. Rose Bay store and restaurant is fantastic for supplies and fantastic local food.
We just returned from another amazing week at Whitecaps Cabana. The design is so well thought out, and we thoroughly enjoyed the upper deck and the screened in room. The outdoor shower was always hard to leave, it's a great experience to shower outdoors. Thanks again Andy and Jacqui for your attentiveness and prompt communications!
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at this property. The weather wasn't the best, but we didn't mind at all. The property had everything we needed and can't wait to go back. The area has a lot to offer - take the ferry to the bakery, go to the many beaches, take a drive into Lunenburg, or just relax at the cottage.
Location and property are exceptional and perfect for exploring all that Nova Scotia’s South Shore has to offer. Ideal for couples and those like us who like to travel with our pet. Lovely ocean views and beautiful private beach for long walks and lazy afternoons. Kitchen is well appointed and many thoughtful homey touches like star glazing blankets and fabulous beach chairs. Even an outdoor shower! A perfect 10/10!
The Whitecaps Cabana is absolutely peaceful. The house is so thoughtfully laid out and organization maximized for tiny home living. The outdoor spaces are spectacular and we so enjoyed lounging and enjoying the view on the upper and lower decks. The outdoor shower is the absolute highlight of the whole property! Even in the rain, the shower is an absolute joy. Thank you for this amazing property!
White caps Cabana was amazing and everything we were looking for in a three night getaway. The accommodations were exactly as described, and the view was amazing! So much to see and do within a short drive. The private beach was beautiful and the warmest for swimming and long walks. We were fortunate to have great weather, campfires every night and some great stargazing. The Cabana has everything you need and more.
This is a great little cottage with amazing views and a lot of amenities available, thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the space. We loved the outside shower option, the screened in porch, and the upper deck for stargazing. The hosts are easy to get in touch with and provided everything we needed. Highly recommended!
This cabana was one of the coolest place I've ever stayed. Its truly couple's gate-a-way. The view from the cabana was spectacular. my early morning cup of coffee sitting in the screened porch, I was visited by a couple of deer's almost daily during my time there. The property owners were very friendly. I can't say enough about this place other than I plan to return.. Thank you for sharing your place with us...
Had two small pets with us and walked along the secluded beach every morning and evening at low tide. So calm and relaxing. The hosts were efficient and discrete. Loved the screened lounge area and upstairs bar and patio. A must envious and wonderful stay. Would come back without a doubt.
Absolutely stunning views. Every detial of the Cabana is layed out to perfection. Everything you need is there and its just stunning.
We watched the youtube video multiple times before arriving and its exactly as shown.
I would definitely book again.
From the time you spot the cabana coming up the lane, you will know you are in for a special stay. The hosts thought of everything you will need for an exceptional visit. Enjoyed the outdoor spaces, as weather permitted, and the covered porch when the weather did not cooperate. The cabana is located in a picturesque part of the South Shore near all you will want to explore.
We had an absolutely wonderful week in the Cabana! It's just the right size for a couple and we adored the screened-in porch and rooftop deck with great views of the village and river. The bed was super comfortable and the outdoor showers offered a spa-like feel. The kitchen was well-appointed and had everything we needed to cook a few simple meals, but mostly we enjoyed the restaurants in nearby Lunenburg and the Rose Bay Bistro just up the road. We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at Hirtle's Beach and loved the cozy LaHave Bakery—easy to access on the super-smooth cable ferry.
We loved every minute and we'll definitely be back for another stay!
Our hosts were very accommodating by allowing us to bring an extra doggy and to have a 3 night stay rather than 7! We loved the layout of the cottage and the view, it was wonderful! The only issue we ran into was the long/unkept grass surrounding the property. This didn’t provide anywhere for our dogs to go to use the bathroom without being in grass about their heads. This created a tick issue for both them and us, so beware! Also be sure to bring your own shower soap/shampoo, etc. Otherwise fantastic. :)
This property was stunning, the views were amazing. Sunset picture in the TV set just gorgeous. I personally never wanted to leave the properties but did manage to get to Hirtles beach for the first. Some of the others did a lot of exploring of the surrounding area. We all loved the weekend. Did not need for anything, loved the little signage’s around the home. The only thing that I wanted to bring to your attention was that on Friday night a strange car came up the drive and went all the way down to the retreat. Then came up and parked behind the cars at the Summit. It was shortly after ten and most of us had retreated for the night. The only reason I noticed was because I was getting ready for bed and the motion sensor light came on. I am not sure, but I think it may have been a light grey Honda Civic. Went I turned out the light and looked out the window they drove away. Might be good to mention to lock car doors. Otherwise, a very nice special weekend with family and dear friends.
