NEIGHBORHOOD
Donner Lake is a focal point for many activities. Including swimming, sailing, water skiing, diving, and fishing can be enjoyed on our "Jewel of the Sierra". 20 mins from top Ski resorts - Northstar, Sugar Bowl and Squaw. Locals and visitors are welcome to stay and play at The Lake. We still have that Family Resort atmosphere with lots to offer year-round. A variety of summer activities are available at Donner Lake including hiking, fishing, boating, sailing, water-skiing, rafting, swimming and much more.

HOUSE ACCESS
You have access to the entire house with the exception of the locked owner's closet and drawers in the master bedroom and a storage closet in the basement. Access for the full basement with pool table, washer/dryer, storage, and additional space is also available. For safety, the basement is available via an exterior door.
A code lock at the house allows you to easy access to the house whenever you arrive. There are two doors, the front door to the mudroom is unlocked, please just push the door (give it a shove!) and enter the mudroom. Then, use the keypad to enter your access code on the second door to enter the house.

Beautiful Cabin

This cabin is beautiful remodeled and nicely decorated. You even have small view of Donner Lake from the kitchen window. The owner is very responsive and thoughtful; she had all the lights turned on and the heater turned on prior to our arrival, very thoughtful and caring gesture! We had a great time staying at this cabin and will definitely come back if we have a chance!

Perfect cozy home for a getaway!

My family of 4 enjoyed staying at this home. It is more roomy than it appears in the pictures. Originally we planned to travel with another family but because of Covid it ended up being just our family. However, there is plenty of room for 8 people here. It was the perfect place to work, do school and enjoy all that Truckee has to offer. There were 2 desks for work/school. One desk has an available monitor to connect to. The home has been updated and is very cute. Everything was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen is fully stocked to be able to cook any meal you want, they even had a kitchen aid mixer, pour over coffee, and lots of spices. The big dining table was nice for gathering at. The beds were all comfortable. The pool table was bonus fun for when the kids didn’t want to go in the snow. This is a great winter or summer house. The only thing I didn’t anticipate was digging out of the snow in the driveway. This will not usually be an issue. We stayed during a major snow storm and though the driveway gets plowed daily, you still may have to shovel to get out. The home owners have shovels available so it was no problem. When the snow plow plows the street, it builds a snow berm that blocks the driveway too. So you may have to dig out of that. I love the snow and digging out of the driveway was fun for me but not all may be as excited to dig out of the snow. Overall, we really loved this house and will be coming back in the winter and summer.

Awesome time at Donner Lake

This is a wonderfully maintained property with everything you need. It has a couple of main bedrooms, another one with bunk beds for young kids if you still have them (we don't!) and another area upstairs where folks could sleep. Everything is well stocked, modern and it's very comfortably furnished. The only negative I would say, and this could be my fault for not asking, is that the cabins are really close to each other at Donner Lake. And in my mind, I guess I thought we would be on the far side of the lake away from the main traffic noise of highway 80. But the cabin is a short walk to the water, and we discovered there are several public piers (first-come, first-serve) where you can make yourself comfy and enjoy the beautiful scenery. All in all, a very enjoyable few days in the mountains!
