About this property
Charming, Clean & Comfortable 2-bedroom home in scenic Mills River!
Our spotless, beautiful 2 bedroom country cottage is surrounded by native forest adjacent to Forge Mtn. and South Mills River. In addition to a gorgeous great-room, we have a separate sun-room with full sofa-sleeper, and 2 bedrooms, with KING beds. Also for your comfort, we wash ALL bedding for each stay. Swing on the porch, listen to the river--just a 2 min. walk away, and enjoy our warm, inviting interiors. Mountain destinations of Asheville, Brevard, & Hendersonville--only 20 minutes away. The "Sitton Forge Cottage" features open, beautifully appointed rooms with many special touches: local treats to welcome our guests (even some host-made treats AND some local brew in the fridge!), antique furnishings, natural-based toiletries, books, games, fluffy white towels, plenty of pillows, and high thread-count white bedding with extra cozy blankets too. **We wash all linens after each stay: sheets, pillow protectors, shams, spreads, blankets, etc. for extra comfort & cleanliness! It also has a fully equipped kitchen, stocked laundry room, DVD player and movies, satellite TV, rock fireplace with gas logs (available October--May), and plenty of seating. Best of all, we keep it immaculate for our guests, who often comment on the 'spotless' condition of our home. The surrounding forest is green and inviting, with lovely views of the trees from each room and from the wide, spacious front porch, which is furnished with an abundance of comfy wicker furniture with cushions, a dining table and a sweet porch swing. The principal bedroom has a king-sized bed, double closets, and an antique Duncan Fife sofa--perfect for reading or napping. this relaxing room features an en suite bath with double vanities and a large walk-in shower. The cheerful second bedroom also has a king mattress and double closets, one with a full-length mirror, and this lovely room features a blend of modern and antique styling.
In the hall directly beside the the second bedroom is a well-equipped bath with a shower tub combination, a toilet and vanity sink. Sitton Forge Cottage has two separate living spaces to provide you with plenty of space to enjoy your stay--a great room, and a sun-room. The sun-room is nestled off the back of the house in the trees and has French doors to provide privacy. This bright, inviting room has a new full-sized leather sofa sleeper, a kid-sized table & chairs, and comfy armchairs in addition to the sofa. The large sunroom features a second dining table that seats four and this room has access to the back deck where you’ll find another four-top table with mountain views. *We provide bedding for the sofa-sleeper as well—this freshly-washed bedding is stored in a tub in the laundry room and includes sheets, blanket, quilt and pillows for use on the sleeper sofa. Our great-room features a sofa and chairs to seat at least 8, a TV with a Roku to log into your favorite streaming platforms, a DVD player and movies, boom-box, games and cards, a rock fireplace with gas logs (available October--May), a dining area with seating for 4-6 around an antique farm table, and an open kitchen with a huge island. Our beautiful kitchen has a large refrigerator with ice-maker, dishes, pots, pans, tableware, cooking utensils, dish-washing supplies, trash bags, paper towels, cleaners, dishwasher, kitchen linens, coffee-maker, a selection of teas & coffee, sugar, spices and some basic kitchen supplies. The laundry room has a washer, dryer, vacuum, iron and ironing board, plus a nice selection of laundry & cleaning supplies. Our home sits on a gravel country drive on a hill above the nearest neighbor (over a 1/2 acre away), providing seclusion and lots of nature. We've even had a guest pitch his hammock in lieu of a bed for a few relaxing nights outdoors, with the comforts of our home just a few steps away! We provide high-speed internet via Star Link satellite. Regular cell signal is spotty due to the mountain locale, but Wi-Fi calling through the internet is possible. Additionally a Starbucks Wi-Fi lounge is a mere 10 minutes down the road at our local Ingles Market. The surrounding yard is closely wooded and generally flat close to the home. The entire Sitton Forge Cottage is available for our guests, as is the porch, back deck, driveway, two car concrete parking pad and surrounding one acre yard. This is a private home with no shared spaces--you will be able to enjoy the entire living space. We also own adjoining property nearby, and we are happy to show our guests where they may safely stroll around and be on our land (Our lot is not fenced and it adjoins neighbors' land.) *We do use the garage for storage, and this space is not available for guests. We strive to provide an immaculate, comfortable, lodging for our guests, and we want them to feel at home and cared for. We want our guests to feel free to contact us if there is anything they need. Our family is close by, and is eager to make our guests feel welcome and at home.
