Relax and recharge in this beautiful 2-bedroom, completely off-grid mountain cabin tucked away in exclusive Taos Canyon, with convenient access to both Taos and Angel Fire. Powered by solar with battery and propane backup, this peaceful retreat combines the beauty and privacy of mountain living with all the comforts of home.

Settle into the cozy comfort of a king bed in the primary bedroom and a fun bunk bed with one twin and one queen mattress in the second bedroom—perfect for families or friends. Need extra sleeping space? The living room also features a comfortable queen sofa bed.

Our solar-powered getaway is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a fully stocked kitchen with pantry staples, a well-appointed bathroom with essentials, washer and dryer, heating throughout the cabin, a hair dryer, and plenty of other homey touches.

Step outside to gather around the campfire with complimentary firewood, gaze at the stars, or simply relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain surroundings. With minimal to no contact with neighbors, it’s a wonderful place to unplug, unwind, and enjoy everything northern New Mexico has to offer.

IMPORTANT WINTER ACCESS INFORMATION:

This is a true mountain property, and winter weather can bring snow, ice, and rapidly changing road conditions. During the winter months, guests should arrive in a 4WD/AWD vehicle and carry tire chains. If you do not have an appropriately equipped vehicle or are not comfortable driving in mountain snow and ice, we strongly encourage you to reconsider booking during the winter months.

Road conditions are weather-dependent, and access cannot be guaranteed during or immediately following a significant winter storm. Please come prepared—the beautiful, secluded mountain setting is part of what makes this cabin so special!

Whether you’re visiting to ski, hike, explore Taos and Angel Fire, or simply escape for some peace and quiet, our cabin offers the perfect blend of rustic mountain charm, privacy, and modern comfort.

IMPORTANT — PRIVATE PROPERTY

Staying at our cabin does not grant access across neighboring private property. Do not use neighboring private roads, driveways, gates, fences or parcels to reach public land. Hunters must access Carson National Forest from a lawful public access point and are responsible for confirming land ownership, current closures, hunting-unit boundaries and NMDGF/USFS regulations.

Make sure all windows are locked and dowls are place in the window tracks.

Do NOT start any laundry or leave wet clothes in the washer or dryer.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Hunters: Do not cross private property, roads, fences or gates. Access Carson National Forest only from public access points. No access from cabin.
Checking out: If you leave something behind, we will charge $50 service fee plus shipping costs. Please double check and don't leave items behind!

Tucked away, quiet and peaceful. However, close enough to great hiking and mountain bike trails in both Taos and Angel Fire to have fun without spending much time in your car.

Such a cozy, private and comfortable cabin, off the grid but with all the comforts plus an easy drive into town for supplies and shopping. And watch for the hummingbird show! Communicative and helpful host. We hope to come back for more peace and quiet here in the future. Highly recommend.

To describe this property as rustic doesn't do it justice. The hosts have packed every amenity you can think of into this private, isolated cabin tucked away in the mountains. After some hiccups (my fault) on finding the security gate, Alesha and Rick promptly solved all our problems and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. And our dog was in heaven!This was also our first time in an off-the-grid property so it was interesting to see how well they integrated solar, etc into their little home.The weather was overcast and rainy so we didn't get to do some of our planned activities, but the tv offerings and starlink connection were superb. There were plenty of charging stations in every room, with neat little motion lights that were so helpful in new surroundings. The bathroom was top notch, and included a little bum-wash on the toilet which we loved because we miss our bidet when we travel.The decor and renovations on this cabin are very well done, and every inch has been maximized. Highly recommend this stay and these fabulous hosts!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay with our two pups. Very private location which is hard to find in the area, and the cabin had a lot of amenities. We enjoyed watching the sunset on the balcony which was very peaceful. Highly recommended cabin when visiting the Angel Fire/Taos area.

This off the grid cabin was an excellent nature escape. The home is well kept and made for a very relaxing stay. The kitchen is well equipped and it was lovely to get to sit out on the porch. The host was very responsive and really helpful when VRBO forgot to send us the full check-in instructions. I would definitely return!

We live in San Diego, California, with our five kids, and love escaping to the mountains whenever we can. Whether it’s skiing, hiking, or simply being in nature, Taos has become one of our favorite places to relax, reconnect, and make memories as a family. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

We chose this neighborhood because of the peace, privacy, and incredible natural beauty that surrounds it. Tucked away in the wilderness with very few neighbors nearby, it’s the perfect place to truly unplug and enjoy the quiet. We love waking up to the mountain air, taking in the scenery, and feeling completely immersed in nature while still being close enough to enjoy everything Taos has to offer.
