Located exactly 10 mn away from Hunter or Windham, enjoy skiing in the winter or swimming/kayaking in the summer at this beautiful apartment feels just like your own cabin and is part of a larger private lake front property. The apartment, which is independent from the rest of the house and has its own entry door, was completely renovated in 2017. You will have access to a deck with breathtaking views of the lake. The bedroom has a Queen size bed; the bathroom boasts a large Italian style rain shower; the kitchenette is fully-equipped with Mr. coffee and French press coffee maker, toaster and microwave oven; it also has a table that seats four; the living area has a comfortable couch and an LCD Smart TV with Netflix included (no cable); free Wireless Internet access is included; a charcoal BBQ grill is at your disposal on the guest deck; On site parking available for two cars. Fire pit on the property. Kayak for two (Spring & Summer only).

Me & Girlfriend had a great time in Hunter NY, the house was exactly how the pictures look. Besides the lake being frozen over, the sights & peace and quiet was so amazing. We will definitely come back during the early Summer.

Awesome weekend!

My hubby and I stayed at this property last September and loved it so much, we returned again this past weekend. We might make this an annual getaway. :) Property is clean, quiet and the perfect size for two people. It is secluded, just like we like it, but close enough to town (about 10-15 mins to Tannersville for food) and Hunter Mountain (10 mins). We wanted a relaxing weekend away from NYC and this property definitely fit the bill. Thank you Atossa!

Fantastic stay - just what what we were looking for.

We had an amazing week in the country away from NYC - and this property was exactly what we had hoped for - and much more. My wife and I really loved the small apartment (perfect for 2) which was stylish and well equipped. The outdoor space is wonderful - we sat on the balcony for breakfast (and for BBQs in the evening), relaxed on the floating jetty with a beer in the afternoon and enjoyed the amazing night sky in the evening. Atossa, the owner, was really welcoming and helpful throughout the stay. There are some nice places to visit nearby (furthest we went to were Hudson and Woodstock - do walk the Hudson Sky-walk and visit Olana if you get the time) and some good places to eat (mainly casual - which we like). Nice local walks too and amazing scenery. Thoroughly recommended - we hope to return soon.

Perfect Getaway Stay

I booked the accommodations for a ski trip with my fiancé. When we might have had to postpone the trip, Atossa was extremely helpful and was willing to do what she could to make the trip work for us on different days... So glad we were able to make it work in the end! Our stay was just as expected - cozy, comfy, and clean with cute decor as pictured! It was also the perfect size for us two. It truly is conveniently located near both ski resorts, as well as restaurants (we appreciated the recommendations you left on the board). Thank you so much! We hope to stay again in the future to experience it during a different season!

Lovely modern touches in a cabin setting

Just spent a weekend there with my boyfriend. We weren't lucky with the weather, but it didn't matter. The bed is super comfortable and the space is utilized very efficiently. That little red fridge is the best! Only issue I'd mention is while the shower is divine, the lack of curtain or sliding glass made it impossible not to get water out onto the floor no matter how careful we were. There's gotta be a way to remedy that.

Cozy Getaway

My girlfriend and I stayed here during November for a few days, and it was exactly what we needed. The property is beautiful, the living space is modern, and Atossa provided everything (i.e. clean sheets and towels, cleaning supplies, some toiletries, kitchen supplies, etc.). It is not a big living space, but it is cozy and absolutely perfect for two people. It has all of the amenities one might need for a small getaway, and every appliance worked well. The fire pit outside was particularly enjoyable, and Atossa even provided some firewood. Just keep in mind there is no oven or dishwasher and not a lot of counter space, so do not plan on preparing an elaborate meal from scratch (unless you want to use the charcoal grill, which we did not). Atossa has everything set up perfectly for a stay here, and it did not disappoint. She even left us a bottle of wine when we arrived. This has to be one of the highest value stays in the entire region. Look no further if you want a 2-5 day vacation for a great deal.

Mini Weekend Getaway in the Mountains

This was the cutest place ever! The property is beautiful, easy to get to, and right in between Hunter and Windham. I loved that Atossa left a little board with places to go and food options., check in and out was no problem at all. The decor in the apartment is fabulous! The rental was clean, and perfect for 2! Lake cottage paradise

Communication with Atossa was quick and easy. The automatic codes made check in very simple. We were looking for a small intimate cottage in the woods with some modern touches and we find that and even more. It was fully equipped for what we needed for a few days. The property is in a beautiful piece of land ,close to the mountains and to town as well. We loved it and definitely will be back.

Tiny beauty

The place was immaculate, and beautifully designed with marvelous attention to detail and intelligent use of space. The location is spectacular. (My husband loved morning swims in the lake; I loved sitting by the lake with a book.) I wouldn't want to stay here more than a few days because of the size (very small), but I highly recommend it for couples seeking a short getaway.

Beyond amazing

This tiny house is perfect for the area. We didn't stay in the house except to eat and sleep. The pond is filled with fish. Kayaks were fun. Perfect location for hiking and activities. Perfect way to reset the time clock and kick back with some nature. Katerskills falls and hiking at north-south lake were our favorites.

The Coziest Mountain Getaway!

My wife and I stayed at Papillion Lake for our first anniversary and we had such a great time. We arrived to a personalized note from the owner along with some rose and maple syrup!! This cozy little spot kept us super warm from the 15 degree weather outside. Inside, everything was immaculately clean and well-kept. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had everything you would need - including a heating fan which added to the coziness! Pure magic!

We absolutely loved our time at Papillon Lake! The decor inside is amazing and both the bed and pull-out couch are super comfortable (we snuggled up on the pull-out to watch a movie during a rain storm). And the property itself is perfect--from morning coffee and lunchtime grilled burgers on the deck to chilling with a beer on the Adirondack chairs on the dock to evenings spent in front of the fire pit, everything was perfect! We kayaked and even swam in the lake. Such a perfect and relaxing long weekend getaway, we will definitely be back!

Had a wonderful time at Papillon Lake! The house is just as adorable as pictured and stocked with all of the essentials, and the surroundings are simply beautiful. We absolutely loved our stay at Papillon lake! The house looks just like the pictures, which is to say, it was gorgeous! My husband and I stayed there for our mini honeymoon after our wedding and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. It had everything we needed in a cozy and beautiful space. We got so lucky with the weather and got to experience both warm and cold, so I can say that whether you are sunbathing on the deck by the water, or enjoying the fire pit and snow on the spacious back lawn, this house is perfect for all seasons. The views were beautiful. Inside, the temperature was perfect and easily controlled by the modern thermostat. Skiing at Hunter mountain was minutes away, as well as numerous restaurants in the neighboring towns. All of the details for the amenities and care of the home were very well explained and Atossa was quick to answer any questions I had. Loved that Netflix was included. I can't say enough how perfect our stay was!
