Charming secluded mountain house with creek view. 5 min from Hunter Mtn.
Charming newly renovated mountain ski house on three acres. 5 mins to Hunter Mountain. 15 mins from Wyndham Mountain. Upstairs has kitchen (fully stocked with brand new pots, dishes, glasses etc) and open living room that looks over the beautiful Schoharie creek. Balinese inspired interiors. Two bedrooms upstairs with queen size beds. Wood burning fireplace. Queen size sofa bed. Downstairs has a bedroom with queen size bed. Bathroom and washer/dryer. Open living room with bar, microwave, and mini fridge. Pool table. Both floors have Roku TV's & Wifi service / Fiber Optic high speed. House is split level so entrances are separate. There is an outdoor fire pit and path to beach on creek is right behind it. Note: Water in house is clean and potable. Has slight sulfur smell. Wells along creek have this. This has been a re-occurring theme for guests so want to address it up front. It really is a great private place on 3 acres on dead end road. Awesome place to get away and relax in the woods, with view of creek, and nature all around you. Great location: Close to several Ski Resorts: Hunter, Wyndham, Belleayre, & Plattekill.

Host was extremely accommodating. Host would always answer the phone when called and tried to be as helpful as possible. The location was fantastic. The house and grounds were very nice.
We arrived and didn’t want to leave. The place is cozy and we all had a great time. We had a party of 8 and everyone had a place to sleep. The river was so nice and the weather this weekend was so good. It’s really close to a lot, a few minutes from a cute downtown and a few minutes from a ton of hiking trails. Paul was super helpful and gave great recs. We will definitely be going back!
The location is simply magical. Simple rustic house covered our basic needs. We brought our own drinking water, based on previous reviews. Thanks to Hurricane Debby we lost power for awhile which added to the adventure! Paul was easy to get in touch with when needed.
Paul contacted us to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed once we got there! House well maintained and ready to go for all our needs as well as touching base just before leaving!!
Good not ask for a better secluded spot for a peaceful rest and great restaurant down the road about four miles for a great night out.
Thank you Paul for everything and all the best going forward.

I stayed the cabin on July 4th to 3nights with my family. The property was huge true private place and the cabin looked new. There are some bugs everywhere, because in the woods. And tap water was stinky, but it wasn’t big problem for us(we brought water). There are enough kitchen tools and clean towels and beautiful linens. We enjoyed staying there especially having BBQ, fire pit and the river!!!
Thanks
This is the first bad review I've ever written and this stay earned it. I would not recommend this property. From check in to check out, our group continuously found unsanitary conditions throughout the house. The upstairs toilet had stains, the couch had stains, the corner of the kitchen bar counter had mice droppings, the downstairs bed had no sheets, one of the upstairs beds had slightly damp bedsheets, the other upstairs bed had sheets with small red stains, the dining table chairs had rips in the fabric, there was a dirty dish left in the sink, and the dishwasher was overflowing with dishes. Thankfully our stay was only 1 night, or else we would have left early.
Property is very close to town and Hunter Mt. Ski Center. The communication with the property owner was amazing. We had a little difficulty booking but the owner resolved this quickly and was very helpful. Highly recommend booking with him.
We booked the house for the MLK weekend, a family with two kids plus two sets of grandparents. This house was perfect for us. Great location for skiing but also for hiking and walking. The house is charming, cozy and well appointed. We loved the high ceiling and large windows in the living room opening to the pretty view of the creek below. The place was immaculately clean. Very comfortable bedding.
The access to the main house area is convenient for elderly, very young or people with limited mobility as you get to the house without any steps. We personally liked that one of the bedrooms and the adjacent room with the pool table were separate from the main house and had to be accessed by the steps outside- it provided some privacy but that might not be great for everyone.
The host, Paul, was very responsive and accommodating. We hope to come back again.
Beautiful wooded remote location but close to town. Great views of the river behind house. Cozy wood burning stove. There were a few issues at the house but owner immediately responded and helped to resolve them quickly.
Unfortunately the owner has immensely misrepresented the house. You have a the exit the main part of the house and walk down a flight of unsteady blue stone steps to access the third bedroom/“game room”. If you are traveling here with small children you should know that the steps are dangerous and it’s completely dark at night. My 4 year old came home with a gash on his knee from walking up the steps. The next and arguable worse downfall of this house is that it’s filthy and has roaches. The ceiling fan in the upstairs living area had about an inch of black dirt/dust and the kitchen cupboards have roach bait traps that apparently are not working since we saw a live one on the kitchen counter. The couches are dirty and have stains.
Other issues...the bed in the downstairs area is lop sided and extremely uncomfortable. The water smells like rotten eggs. Paint is leaking from the walls in several locations. There was no fire wood available for the fire pit outside or fire place inside. No toilet paper. The pool table in the game are is broken, so you can not flip over to play air hockey. The TV in the game area is dated so you can not hook up a game system with a USB.
Overall huge disappointment. We booked this house for 3 nights and left upon waking up the next morning!
Paul was a wonderful host and this house was beautiful! My friends and were looking for a secluded, cozy little cabin to stay at for our birthday weekend. This property was the perfect spot! The house was well stocked and Paul was quick to respond with anything we needed. The property is amazing and is nestled in the trees and on the edge of a little river. It is accompanied by a beautiful outdoor patio area to overlook over all of this natural beauty. Definitely would recommend this home for a cozy getaway!

Just ok
Very nice lot and location on creek. Nice firepit and outside area. Nice countertops and cabinets.
Issues: Not clear in description that that lower level bedroom was accessed from outside through a sliding glass door with no functioning lock. Very inconvenient in bad weather.
Tap water very sulfurous smelling and not drinkable. Bottled water for everything is a must.
A large frying pan with lid would have been helpful.
Only 5 dinner plates.
Cobwebs above on fan and dustbunnies under the bed.
Deadbolt nonfunctional. Condensation in between the window glass renders the large windown totally opaque.
Secluded, beautiful home near creek. Had a really nice, quiet, peaceful time. Loved the fire pit. Visited parks, lakes, farms and antique stores in the area.
I felt like I was home the minute we arrived. The property was very well-maintained and accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay and got around the area to explore the hiking trails and the communities in the area. The owner is an exceptional host and we didn’t lack for anything. Highly recommend
Beautiful outdoor, secluded, creek front, property. My family had a wonderful time enjoying nature here. Paul is an exceptional host, quick to respond and went out of his way to be available.
We enjoyed a quiet and secluded getaway at this charming and rustic streamside cabin. The grounds are beautifully and naturally landscaped to blend seamlessly with natural surroundings. We relaxed by the firepit, grilled on the deck and stared out at the stream. It was a nice, much-needed getaway and the owner was responsive and flexible. Thanks Paul!
My friends and I had an absolutely wonderful time grilling, sitting by the creek, and enjoying the campfires. Paul’s property is gorgeous and meticulously manicured - the foliage is to die for! This is exactly what I needed. Will be coming back!
The host was really nice and reachable, help us with suggestions in the area and was really understandable with us. The house have a great view and is a good neighborhood.
This is a wonderful place for nature lovers. We loved the outdoor spaces including 2 fire pits and great seating areas. Paul is a wonderful guy. He always got right back to me with answering any questions. the neighbors are sort of close but the property is situated in a way that you never know they are there. It’s very private. Sitting creek side was perfection and you can hear the creek flowing from all over the house. There is a very well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. The fire place was perfect for chilly nights. The downstairs bedroom is like a separate little apartment and would be perfect for teen kids or couples traveling together. I loved doing yoga out on the deck. Great spot! We will definitely be back.

I grew up as child in the Catskills fishing and hiking up and down Schohaire creek and the mountains during summer vacation. I also skied here during the winters. I come up here now every chance I get with my wife and three kids. I own two rental properties on the this creek and have been managing rentals for over 10 years. For those who are interested my other house sleeps 10 /12 people and is brand new. Only 5 miles away from this address. I want to share my enjoyment of the Catskills and the creek with all my renters.
