Peaceful getaway

Lovely, comfortable cabin in a perfect location. So much privacy but also so close to everything. We plan to stay here again, we enjoyed it so much.

Disappointed:(

We never received entry instructions until I was able to reach someone at VRBO, and that was 45 minutes after check in time. We left several emails and several messages for the Host and they never got back to us. We drove 4 hours not knowing if we could get in. It was very nerve racking and upsetting.

Perfect Mountain Escape

Log cabin. Mountain escape. Wood it privacy. Babbling Brook. Wood-burning stove. A true mountain oasis. What more could you ask for? The house was clean, cozy warm and spacious. Our stay couldn't have been more perfect.

We were extremely disappointed with this property and ended up leaving less than 18 hours after checking in. We arrived at 6:30 PM and had re-packed and checked out by 11:30 AM the following morning. The home had not been cleaned before our arrival—there were crumbs and food on the floor, the kitchen trash was full, and the stovetop was grimy. Drawers and closets throughout the house were packed with the owner’s personal belongings, leaving us no space to unpack for our week-long stay. Keeping our toddler out of the many low, cluttered kitchen drawers (containing paperwork, batteries, tools, candles, cheese knives, etc.) was a constant struggle. This was our first family vacation with two young children (ages 1.5 and 3.5), and unfortunately, the property was not child-safe. There was an open bucket of ashes and another full of wood stove tools left on the living room floor. A hatch to the basement was “gated off” with a baby gate simply leaned against it—it was unstable and unsafe to step on. The coat closet near the front door couldn’t be locked and was packed with clutter, including a ladder that our toddler nearly pulled down on himself. On a positive note, the property management was responsive and communicative throughout. They promised us a full refund, which we are still waiting to receive.
Open bucket of wood stove ashes and tools on the living room floor.
Creepy hatch in the living room floor.
Front closet full of clutter that couldn’t lock.
Multiple low junk drawers in the kitchen.

Lovely getaway with the family in a little mountain retreat. A nice secluded spot that is still very close, even walkable, to a nearby town.
