My partner and I booked this cabin as part of a getaway while visiting a wedding venue for our upcoming big day. The venue is about 11 hours from home, so we decided to turn the trip into a short vacation. I grew up in the Maryville area and expected a rural setting, but the drive into the cabin’s location was more intense than anticipated. Some roads were narrow and unlined, and we definitely should have mapped out the safest roads to get there. The driveway itself is quite steep. While my 2WD vehicle made it, I’d recommend something with more horsepower for peace of mind, especially if there is any type of weather. The cabin is beautiful and clearly designed with adults in mind. It’s surrounded by a few other cabins, but the atmosphere was quiet and serene, perfect for unwinding. Unfortunately, the cabin hadn't been cleaned when we got there. There were dirty dishes in the sink, used towels in the bathroom and main area, and the bed was unmade. Cell reception is limited, but we were able to reach the owners via WiFi. They were very responsive and apologetic. Apparently, the cleaning company hadn't lis and offered to send the cleaning crew the next morning. We opted instead for fresh towels and linens, which they provided.Despite the rocky start, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the peaceful setting. That said, we’ll likely choose a location with easier access next time. The cabin itself is lovely, but the experience was a mix of beauty and disappointment.
